Delighted by an exceptional dining experience at Craft Bistro! Hailing from the Charlotte, NC area accustomed to fine dining, we ventured here based on recommendations and glowing reviews—our expectations were exceeded. From the outset, the hostess was remarkably kind, our server Richard provided outstanding service, and even the charismatic Drew with his distinctive pink hair left a lasting impression (recommend asking for Drew or Richard's table). The owners shared a captivating and humbling story, making the experience feel nothing short of royal treatment.Savoring the lamb pops and smoked ahi tuna set the stage for an exquisite culinary journey. The scallop and mahi-mahi entrees were equally delightful, solidifying the belief that any choice on the menu is a winner.Heartfelt gratitude to the Craft Bistro team for an unforgettable evening. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed and eagerly anticipate our return during our next visit to West Jefferson!
Recommended dishes: Smoked Tuna Tartar, Pan Seared Scallops, Lamb Pops
Absolutely amazing restaurant. The chefs are amazing, the service is friendly, and the drinks are excellent. They aren’t booked up because it’s a small town, but if this was a big town, it would be booked up for months in advance. One of my top 10 restaurants anywhere and that is saying alot.
Recommended dishes: Toast, Bread Pudding, Pan Seared Cajun Tiger Shrimp
We've been 3 times over the years and all three visits were stellar. Fantastic food, cocktails, service and atmosphere.
Was actually at the Parkway Theater watching "The Marvels"..really good movie, despite what the gatekeeping incels would have you believe. This theater has been a local staple so long as I've lived. It's affordable, comfortable and a great setting for date nights.
Highly recommend! Staff is amazing. We make sure to visit every time we visit West
Great night out with friends had the private dinner with wine
Everything about our meal, from drinks, to appetizer, entrees and desserts was incredible! And the amazing service from Richard as well as the rest of the server team made a good dinner experience great. Many thanks to Craft Bistro for a fabulous evening out! We will be back! (Even if it is 2 hours away!)
The great reviews brought me to Craft Bistro. Unfortunately, I was treated so poorly by the hostess upon entering the restaurant that I doubt I will go back at all. I am going to hope it was not an ethnic/racist issue and rather a lack of good training and professionalism on the part the hostess working today, Friday 10/20/23.If a restaurant requires reservations it should be properly stated on their marketing platforms.Needless to say she did not give us a table and served the other white guest who came after us. To the Hispanic Community in this area beware of Craft Bistro!
A wonderful dining experience! Amazing service and wonderful food.
Recommended dishes: Lamb Pops
This is amazing chef prepared food! Richard, our waiter, provided wonderful service and recommendations. We will definitely go back next time we go to the mountains.
We came to eat here after being on the road for 9 hours, and I can tell you this: It was the most incredible feeling to be greeted by a warm ambiance, as well as the friendliest, most enthusiastic waitstaff and manager we have met in years! Our server, Drew, was incredibly kind, and wanted us to have nothing but the best wines to pair with our meals. He brought out small cups for us to taste, and to perfectly compliments our beyond high quality meals! I had the scallops on a bed of mushroom and white chocolate risotto. My date had the duck, and we both shared the shrimp toast appetizer. We have eaten in and also been servers in fine dining establishments, and can say that this exceeded all of our expectations! Thank you all so very much for the memorable evening!
The food was amazing! The only thing better was the service. Everyone is kind and friendly and happy to welcome you in. The tuna appetizer and duck entree were exactly what I was craving. Don't miss this incredible bistro experience in West Jefferson.
Some family members raved about this restaurant and so I figured I had to try it out. And after doing so, I don't get it at all. I will say that the service was very good, and the reason for the 3 stars. My meal though, was a miss. I started with the bread and butter. This hit the spot and was really good. Where they lost me was dinner. The menu was limited and is seafood heavy. There were plenty of good looking options though. I noticed that really none of the dishes had a vegetable component, which I thought was strange. As it turns out they do come with a vegetable, but it isn't listed on the menu. The scallop dish I ordered was described as follows... Day boat scallops seared to perfection over a parmesan, wild mushroom, and white chocolate risotto. Maybe it was an off day because my uncle loved this dish, but my scallops were not fresh, nor were they seared to perfection. They were rubbery and very overcooked. The risotto was a little undercooked (I came early in the evening), and what my uncle had described as a pile of mushrooms underneath when he got it was just a few diced mushrooms mixed in on my version. It also came with a big helping of plain broccoli on the side and a weird garnish of 1/2 of a grape tomato. I will say that I also visited their food truck at Old Barn Winery (I assume related due to the Craft logo). That iteration was better, so I might be convinced to give it another go.
This is the only fine dining restaurant in the county and it's VERY good. A limited menu, but the items we've tried are superb. Highly recommended.
