Staff was very nice and accommodating when we showed up with 11 people. Wings were pretty darned good. The few beers I had were all pretty serviceable -- didn't rock my world but quite drinkable.Comfortable atmosphere. Extensive menu.
West Jefferson is one of our favorite stops while visiting the NC mountains. There is no shortage of places to eat along the main drag, but one street over is New River Brewing. They offer a wide range of beer on tap, something for ever taste. If your looking for just some munchies or a full meal, their menu will not disappoint. I got a half rack of ribs, not disappointed! Tinder and tasty, with a perfect rub.
Can I give more stars, please? Simply amazing! Great beer, food and service. Bri is an awesome server, she was super helpful and nice. The game sausage is fantastic, the beer battered cauliflower is a delicious surprise, and you really don't want to miss out on the banana pudding, it is heavenly. The beer is on point - try the Kentucky Common, a dark (but not heavy) delight. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy. This gem is off the main road, don't overlook it!
We ate here on a Sunday evening because it was nearby and open. Great call. The Carolina burger was great combination of ingredients I'd never had before. And now I want more of that chili. My wife wasn't sure about her pulled pork. I had a bite, noted the subtle smoky-charcoal flavor, and then she grabbed it back. The only drawback for us was the list of items off the menu that night. No fries, but the onion rings were good. Great service. Reasonable. Fun atmosphere.
Meeting Chris put this review over the top!We nearly left because the wait was long, but my husband found two seats open up at the bar so we went for it!We ordered the chicken wings, the pulled pork fries and a Caesar salad.I devoured the fries! My husband was very impressed and he is hard to please because he is an awesome cook! When Chris found out my husband is Armenian they swapped stories about the culture, the cognac & food & it was the highlight of our evening in West Jefferson.NRB is worth the wait!
Wow! What a great experience- food was delicious and service was terrific. Kennedy (very sweet young lady) was amazing as our server. This really is a great place for lunch or dinner. The craft beers were outstanding as well.
You could do far worse in West Jefferson. This brewpub has it all: good beers, good food, and excellent, friendly service. Worth the search; just one block off the "main drag" downtown.
Excellent food and beverages. Get there early or be prepared to wait. The bar offers first come seating. We sat / ate at the bar. The NRB smokehouse salad with pulled pork was exceptional.
“I Placed a trade and received a very large sum of profit only for me to find out that I had only waited for 7 days to receive such an amazing profit. “Very helpful and friendly trader to deal with, such a simple and seamless process. This restaurant is off the main street and worth the effort to fine. We enjoyed a nice lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The food is made in-house so it does not taste everything you get at a chain. We had chicken tenders and pulled pork BBQ with fries and chip. You should also give the Skeeter Pee a try. I had All The Berries; it was delicious with my BBQ. Based only on this our review would have been very good. What moved it to Excellent is Chris. He visited all the guests to hear about their expereince.
Always great service! Love seeing Amy and Abby.
We usually love New River Brewing and we come every time we are in town. This weekend we brought friends to visit and raved about the food, service, and atmosphere. We were so let down when we were told no parties of four or more would be served. We asked if we could sit 4 and 2, but that wasn’t acceptable either. With so many large tables open and not the usual crowd, we were disappointed.Edit: We returned to give NRB a shot the following evening and were seated immediately, even with the dinner rush. The hostess said she had no idea why anyone would have turned us down the night before. Beer was cold, food was great and came in a timely manner, and the service was much more pleasant this time around.
Wonderful experience here. Server was a nice guy, great recommendations. Lots of brews to choose from. I ordered a smoked bologna sandwich and it was mind blowing. I even took a risk and ordered the roasted broccoli for a side (I don't normally eat broccoli) and it was delicious.Highly recommend coming here if you're in the Jefferson area.
Great food, excellent choice of local beer, service was attentive
The place was crowded at lunch on a holiday weekend so we walked around and decided to head back and wait with a beer. We put our name on the list but then 2 seats opened at the bar so we grabbed them on the spot. I mentioned to my friend that I'd like to try the Strawberry Rhubarb Skeeter Pee. I turned around and the bartender had overheard me and handed me a sample. Very tasty. So I had one. I had the BBQ sandwich. And fries. Very generous portions for $14. I also had a bodacious Blonde Ale. Also quite tasty. The place was jumping but both bartenders were keeping up with the traffic and were very prompt in serving us. Everyone in the place seemed friendly. I wish it wasn't such a long drive to get there because there were more beers to sample and in fact the bartender overheard me and poured me two more samples. Really nice guy. I think his name is Rob. Definitely stop there is you are in West Jefferson!
