“In town on vacation from Texas...... Headed down from Minot,ND, to Mt Rushmore but we needed some breakfast. In Max, ND, we found the Max Cafe off Hwy 83....winner winner chicken fried steak and eggs dinner! We had an eclectic mix from biscuits and sausage gravy to eggs over easy and scrambled, to bacon and pancakes, coffee, OJ, fried American potatoes, hash browns, toast and nice staff. Plates were HUGE portions and more than I could finish. Staff were very friendly and accommodating-and they do meals on wheels out of here for the community! How cool! Bathrooms were clean. Decor was like my grandma's house. Old stuff I recognized from my childhood. You HAVE to come try this joint!!”
