Arby's Brings Back Its Smokehouse Pork Belly Sandwich
Arby's is the first national restaurant to offer something new - pork belly, which is known to have larger, better bacon. Because of that, its Smokehouse Pork Belly Sandwich became an instant hit, selling out in a multitude of places around the world in just weeks.
With constant requests from customers to bring it back and the positive response the company had, Arby's agreed to bring back the Smokehouse Pork Belly Sandwich... for a short time.
Arby's Restaurant Group Chief Marketing Officer and Brand President Rob Lynch said guests absolutely loved their pork belly sandwich when it came out last year. He said the company was initially hesitant about its release because nobody had offered something like it before. Lynch said the response was overwhelming, surpassing the company's expectations. He said the company worked tirelessly to offer it again as quickly as they could. He contended the pork belly was yet another example of Arby's intent to offer unique food and be innovative.
The Smokehouse Pork Belly Sandwich from Arby has two pieces of thick pork belly along with crispy onions, smoked, melted cheddar cheese, mayo and BBQ sauce on a specialty roll that's toasted. The pork belly is hickory smoked for several hours then seared to give it the melt-in-your-mouth taste.
Another sandwich making its way to the Arby's menu is the Smoke Mountain Sandwich, which comprises of smoked brisket, smoked pork belly and smoked ham along with smoked cheddar cheese, crispy onions and BBQ sauce. Again, piled high up on specialty bun.
Arby's had led the way in offering quality protein, using the same approach for these sandwiches has it has for its other product innovations such as the Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich and Traditional Greek Gyro and Venison Sandwich.
