Henri's Owners To Open Restaurant In Windsor Park Neighborhood

Windsor Park residents were anxiously awaiting word on the fate of the Odelay and The Upper East Side restaurant, bar and coffee shop. It appears that this project will no longer move forward. Rather, the owners of Henri's Cheese and Wine Shop are moving into the vacant property on Berkman Drive to open a restaurant in early 2018.

Jessie Katz and Andy Means closed Henri's in 2016 after a fire broke out during the lunch service. The pair hadn't opened another restaurant since that time, meaning the location was closed for good.

Katz said they never said they'd never open another Henri's, which is why they're putting their time and effort into the new space.

Both said they didn't see Windsor Park as a new Henri's location. They chose the area because they felt the neighborhood give benefit from what they had to offer.

Katz said they saw a need for the neighborhood to have a restaurant, bar and coffee shop - a place that was also family-friendly. Both said they wanted to produce a restaurant that met that need.

The couple's project will be similar to the idea of Odelay - offering shoppers at the Windsor Village shopping center a restaurant, coffee shop and bar. The menu will consist of breakfast, dinner and lunch as well as a weekend brunch. Some of the menu items will include burgers, pasta, sandwiches, pastries and salads. There will also be a children's section on the menu.

It will have a full bar, and offer coffee, wine and beer. The space offers room for a patio and drive-thru.
