Starbucks Adds New Food and Drink Items To Its Summer Menu
It appears that Starbucks has its millennial-friendly, Internet-based marketing down. And, to ensure the trend stays that way, it's offering limited-time only menu items. For instance, it used an Instagram-inspired post to create its Unicorn Frappuccino.
The popular coffee brand is offering a plethora of limited-time only items for its summer menu that are a bit more refreshing and a little healthier. Starbucks is using coconut milk for two of its iced espresso drinks.
Iced Cascara Coconut Milk Latte has been seen on the menu at least once before. The drink brings together the sweetness of cascara and Starbucks signature espresso with coconut milk to produce a light espresso drink that's ideal for summer. For those that don't know, Cascara is the Spanish word for husk and is in reference to dried coffee beans, which can be extracted and turned into syrup.
Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato was originally brought to Starbucks' menu during the summer of 2016. This beverage consists of espresso shots poured on top of chilled coconut milk with a little white chocolate mocha sauce thrown in. For a little more fun, the baristas can add a mocha sauce and caramel sauce in a double crosshatch pattern.
Starbucks is also offering its Teavana Shaken Ice Tea Infusions, which comprise of "botanical blends" and sweetened steeped fruit. They come in three flavors - Iced Peach Citrus Tea, Strawberry Green Tea and Pineapple Black Tea.
The company is bringing some new food additions to its menu such as the chicken and quinoa protein bowl, high-protein breakfast wrap with egg, steak and tomatillo and a vegan bowl that includes brown rice, veggies and lentils. Three new desserts are also being added to the menu - strawberry cake pop, raspberry whoopee pie and vanilla bean whoopee pie.
