Very disappointed . Been a somewhat regular customer over the years , I assure you that I won't be in the future . I showed up today with a party of 2 without a reservation . I could completely understand if the restaurant was full . Could see both the dining room , and the Bar from front desk . 2 people sitting at the bar , a table of 4 seated in the bar , 3 empty tables from my viewpoint in the dining room , and 4 empty tables outside . I asked the young , very young lady at the desk if we could sit at the bar , she replied that she would have to check with the bartender his answer was a flat out no , I asked about a table inside , or out , she said she had to check with the other hostess . The other hostess came out and said that it would be 45minutes , to and hour, they took my cell number , and said we could check out the local shops , while we were waiting . That's exactly what we did . 45 minutes later I received a call from the hostess at 1:38 stating that the bartender couldn't keep up with the diners that they had , and that they could not accommodate us for the rest of the day . I can't believe that they don't have anyone crossed trained to assist the incompetent bartended . There wasn't anyone I would guess over the age of 20 to speak to . I've recommended the Waterhouse a number of times to family , and friends , but going forward I'll be sure to eco how poorly The Waterhouse is being run .
We started with a shrimp appetizer which was very good, I had a ribeye and salad which was very tasty, my wife had a 6 oz filet and was very pleased. We would go back for sure, nice ambience and friendly waitress and staff.
Have dined here several times- each time with excellent service, food and atmosphere .
Fantastic food, awesome ambience and unbeatable location by the river. The waitresses are super friendly. One of the best restaurant experience we had.
Our waitress was great. Riley was very attentive and a lot of fun
Everything I ordered was delicious. Was slightly disappointed in the pumpkin creme brûlée as it was cold by the time I got it, but it still tasted as I imagined it would.
Not a dining experience we will repeat. The dining room was exceptionally noisy and the food was awful, the kitchen trying to impress rather than sticking to the basics. Lobster Wonton to start (3!) were over-fried and consisted primarily of pink cream cheese - perhaps the cream cheese and the lobster had been in the same kitchen, the best part was the salsa which was fresh and interesting; crab cakes were small, mushy, over-mixed, and not very flavorful; the fish tacos were beyond well-done, extremely tough; the flatbread was good, but nothing to write home about.
Meghan, our waitress, was outstanding. When I ordered soup, not only did she give me a soup spoon, but one for wife in case she wanted to try it. She anticipated our needs.the food was excellent. My wife had the seafood crepes and I had one of the specials which was great. We will be back!
I'll start with the caveat that staffing is a huge challenge these days. I have visited Waterhouse 5-6 this summer, and while the service has improved, the food is very inconsistent. The corn chowder was unremarkable, the tomato/bread/moz salad was lacking in much mozzarella. I had second thoughts about my order and tacked on a side of french fries which saved the day... perfect. I will return for the wonderful outdoor experience and so hope the kitchen can improve.
Love sitting outdoors! Always have a good time there and staff is always great!
Delightful evening - service was very good as was the food.
Our reservation was at 6:15. We arrived at 5:50 and were seated immediately. Our entrees arrived at 7:20 after we told the waitress we were leaving if the chef couldn't get our meal to us. My husband's meal was $30 and mine was $28. Both were bland. Not worth the money.
We had a wonderful time in a wonderful setting. The food was excellent. The staff were all just great! Will come back again, will give good reviews about our visit there. Thank you all very much.
Made a reservation for outside and had lunch on a Saturday. Seated right along the river and for most of our meal we were the only ones in our seating area. Beautiful view, the sound of the river was wonderful. Our server Reilly was fantastic! Very attentive, pleasant and friendly. Service was great and the wait time for our meals was just long enough to enjoy a drink beforehand. We had the Fish and Chips and the Fish Tacos. Both were delicious. We never felt rushed to clear the table and ended up staying about 90 minutes. We'll happily go back again.
I love this restaurant, especially the outside tables. The atmosphere is so calming. I could literally stay there all day, sitting under the trees watching the birds. The food is always delicious, and they have an awesome wine list and great choice of draft beers.
