Tried this restaurant for the first time last week after choosing it due to the need for Gluten-Free options/no cross contamination. The atmosphere was very nice, the staff was attentive and pleasant, and the food was really good! I definitely recommend it.

Had a great and refreshing time visiting Portsmouth! We enjoyed a beautiful lunch at the River House on the riverside. The atmosphere was lovely, and the food—especially the chicken tenders and fries—was delicious. A bit on the pricey side, but the view and vibe made it worth it. Highly recommend for a scenic, relaxing meal! 🌊🍽️

It was fantastic. A little expensive but man everything there was worth it. We got the lobster dip nachos. Amazing. I got an poster poboy. Amazing. My girlfriend got a lobster roll. Amazing. Honestly, the food is delicious, fresh and you get an amazing view of the river. If you ever have the chance, go.

We came in today a little after 4 pm to see if there was space for 5 of us, we weren't picky where. We waited at the host stand while servers/hosts pointedly avoided looking at us or went around us without any acknowledgement. (I know from food service friends that they're down management, but that's not an excuse.) We decided to go around the corner to The Oar House, which was an amazing experience, as always.

Amazing GF menu. Food is fantastic. Service is average. Warning to the GF restricted, if you order a beverage including water or soda order WITHOUT the straw. It's paper (gluten sealed). Cross contamination in your beverage will ruin your day. I have mentioned this every time I go to the servers, it falls on deaf ears. Also, the servers will have you cash out your bill at the table. The hand held computer starts the tip table at 20% and goes up from there. That's fine if the service is extraordinary, but service was just subpar. Again, food is fantastic.
