Picture Schitts Creek meets Joe Dirt and you have the Snowy Owl Inn.In 2024 when you check in and everything is paper and pencil and staff gives you legit room keys you know you’re in trouble. Came for hockey tourney, do yourselves a favor find a condo in the village if you have to come to this Waterville Valley “Resort”.Room is decades old dirty red carpet, crusty bedding that looks like military surplus, jacuzzi tub from Miami Vice era, and the creepiest bifold window / door into bathroom that I can’t understand the use for. Anyone who calls this a home away from home either lives in a double wide or should burn their house down.Team rented basement function area of dinner first night, sections of window trim were hanging off the wall and staff claimed they had no to go boxes in the building. Staff have generally not been easy to deal with in accommodating any request without making it sound like we’re asking to wear the Crown Jewels. Pool and any other amenities are a drive away thanks to the idiotic “freedom pass” system. The front door of the place actually looks like it has dry rot at the base, if that’s any indication of upkeep. If you want 1960’s NH ski experience come here, if you want modern, clean, and oh I don’t know room key cards and no funky mold smell everywhere go to Loon or North Conway / Bartlett area resorts run by legit hotel chains. Don’t know how this place passes various inspections let alone remains standing.

Great stay at the Snowy Owl Inn! We visited over the summer and couldn't wait to get back with some snow on the ground. Rooms and common areas are clean and the staff always seem happy to be there. Our pup felt right at home too!

LOVE this place. Third year in a row and it gets better every year. Amazing, friendly and responsive staff, perfect locale in the center of it all. Great rooms, ambience and food. I will keep coming back year after year.Rooms: Clean, cozy, many different room types (great variety). Kitchens and jacuzzi tubs in some rooms!Nearby activities: Smack dab in the center of it all--shops, cafes, lake, hiking, golf just out the doorWalkability: Smack dab in the center of it allFood & drinks: Lovely little bar with creative barkeep, wonderful food and breakfast--and some of the best doeals in pricey Waterville ValleyNoteworthy details: This place is apres ski lodge chic with a soaring lobby and huge stone fireplace

We just stayed for 8 days, and the Snowy Owl was our home. The friendly staff and owner live in the hotel. The location is the best in the valley. The restaurant food in the hotel is excellent and reasonably prices. The furnishings are rustic, its not a modern hotel, its a home away from home.Rooms: The only hotel in the valley that allows dogs.Nearby activities: Bike trail riding, disc golf, golf, tennis and church service at the top of the lift at the ski school.Safety: You never have to lock your doorWalkability: The best location to walk to townFood & drinks: The hotel restaurant is best value in townNoteworthy details: Book directly for your free Freedom pass...

I walked in the lobby to ask about rooms. Before I could get to the front desk, I was struck by the smell of mouse urine and feces. I'm sure the people that work there don't notice it anymore, but it is strong. I hope they can remedy the problem as it is a very nostalgic 70's style hotel

This might be a good place for a winter vacation when everything is open for the skiers, but was isolated and limited in hotel services when we spent the week hiking.

Beautiful location. A lot of attractions in the area. In the summer it is very quiet. The interior could use updating. All that brown and dry looking wood probably works better in winter contrasting with all the wet and white. It feels like they expect wet ski boots everywhere. Staff was nice.
Last time here they had just begun operating restaurant son bartending did well I did it for 30+ years food was great only bad point came up for pool it was closed

We have stayed in various resorts, off and on, in Waterville Valley for over 30 years. First time at the Snowy Owl and until it is updated, the last. The best part of the stay was that the room was a quiet room and the price was reasonable, but beware you will get what you paid for, The configuration of teh room was very irregular. The Main Queen bed had less than six inches clearance on the left side. Getting up in the night was a challenge. Full bed was in an alcove and had a window above the headboard with only a venetians blind. A 5AM sunrise brough the full dawn into the room. The couch was in another alcove a good 10 feet from the TV which faced in a different direction. It was a sofa bed which when you sat on it you sank to the floor. The bathroom was tiny and quite dated. The continental breakfast was minimal and we did not return for a second visit even though it was free. The Inn has plenty of potential and hopefully the new owner will update everything . It is in a great location and with some $$ could become a place to go back to at some time.

The definition of a Rustic Inn, I loved everything from the fireplaces to the room keys. I spoke to the owner who purchased the Snowy Owl in 2020 at the height of the pandemic and they are making updates and upgrades throughout the hotel every day and it shows. The executive suite has the best views and is so spacious. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. It truly feels like a family place.Added plus - Bartender Kyle made delicious cocktails, the Snowy Owltini is a must try!
