I have gone here so many time. Between take out and eating in as a family it is a wonderful experince. Nice friendly staff. Great food.

Our waitress was very friendly with a sweet sense of humor.

Nasty and dirty . Place is also not very good. I moved away from brown stone down In Edgewater to this dump .

I had a California Cheeseburger,Ice tea and Coconut Custard Pie.Every thing is delicious. Excellent Service.

Ok, to start the food was great, always has been. My fiancé and I have been here numerous times, it was our go to diner when we lived in the area. The reason for the 3 star review today is because our waitress. We went at 11:50 on a Sunday so we expect it to be busy, no problem there. We were still seated immediately. As soon as we sat down the waitress took our drink order and we were settling into our booth as she brought our drinks. She asks if we are ready to order and we haven't even had a second to open or menus. She made some comment along the lines of " oh its busy usually people are ready". My fiancé usually knows what he wants pretty fast but i was unsure. ONE minute after asking is if we were ready she came and asked again, I apologized but I was not ready. I felt rushed. I just decided to get whatever my fiancé was getting, to just hurry up. Once food was served she comes by to ask how the food was and we hadn't even taken a single bite. She came back again after we literally just started eating to ask if everything was ok. While eating she came by and wiped our table with a rag. We ended up stuffing the food down because we just felt so rushed. She dropped the check off by the middle of our meal. I wanted to order something else, but that wasnt happening. She stood right behind me most of my meal. We were in and out in 15-20minutes. She did not seem to be doing this to any other table, we were very confused. Being on top of the tables you are serving is great, but rushing people is just terrible. I have worked in the service industry many years and as such I always leave a tip, but the service today was definitely not worth it.

I visited this place this morning and had the WORST experience. The waitress was extremely rude, throughout our entire stay. She questioned my order and asked if I was sure. She also felt the need to explain my order and when I said I knew what it was she rolled her eyes. She didn't come with all my food and I had to continue to ask her for it. Then because I was in a group I went to pay and the manager gave me attitude. I asked to split the check up and she made it seem as though it was a problem. I gave her the same attitude she gave me back ( but of course in a respectful way since we're all adults). I ended up paying and leaving no tip. The food was cold. My boyfriend asked for scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and got what look like a mini omelette and slices of cheese thrown on top that wasnt even melted. The overall experience was HORRIBLE and I will never return again. They need to learn how to properly display customer service and fix their attitudes as well as remove those who arent adequate for the job.

Great place to bring the whole family. Staff is very nice and the atmosphere is great. My go-to place for a hardy bite to eat.

Cold omelette. Banana pancakes w banana served on side in dish. Burger thin like a fast food burger. Mac and cheese was like soup.

Very yummy and tasty! Super fast and friendly service! Hambuger tasted fresh off the grill with grill marks. Fries were tasty too!

50 years and still I venture to Matthews Diner for my favorite food, a tunamelt on rye toast. This place is chucked full of my childhood memories.

Stopped in for with family members for a late meal. Food was good and well prepared. The waitress was very nice.
