My mom and I went to the Ebbitt Room during our stay in Cape May and were delighted by the ambiance, service and food. Njegos, our server, was extremely pleasant and pointed us in the right direction. We started off with the Mussels (a special) and loved it! The dish was refreshing and hearty at the same time. We slurped it all down with some yummy charred bread. My mom had the scallops, which she said was one of the best scallop dishes she's ever had. They were tender, succulent and paired well with the other flavors in the dish. I had the rainbow trout - a dish that hit all the right spots. I particularly enjoyed the parsnip puree, which was savory & sweet. We couldn't stop talking about how well-crafted and creative each dish was. Truly an incredible experience and we will DEFINITELY be back :)

I planned a weekend getaway for myself and my girlfriend as we really needed to decompress and relax, she especially deserved it for all she does in life. So, we went to the Ebbitt Room to experience what was supposed to be fine dining. What we received was simply bland and lackluster, we actually went to another restaurant / bar for libations after and ordered an appetizer just to see if it was our palates or something else, well as it turns out our palates are just fine, the food at the Ebbitt was just nothing to speak of except that it had absolutely no taste whatsoever. I dont think we will ever eat here again, there are so many other places to dine that paying the prices we did here for flavorless food isn't an option for anyone.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This was our first visit and already we are planning to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday here again next year. From the moment we entered and were greeted by the ambience and warmth of the fireplace in the waiting area, the delight of a fantastic piano player and the sight of people enjoying themselves at a gorgeous bar, we knew this was a throw back to the days when fine dining was truly that. Our server for the evening, Gill was an absolute delight and all of our drink and food selections could not have been better! My creamy and delicious celaric soup with lobster was piping hot (Hallelujah!!) and my husband's wedge salad crisp, fresh and generous ladened with dressing, blue cheese and other chopped garnishes. For my entree I had Rainbow Trout, absolutely perfect, my husband had Filet Mignon, cooked to perfection--rare just as he likes it. Dessert did not disappoint at all which was so nice as we have found too often after a good meal the desserts are mediocre. Not here. I had a luscious chocolate cheesecake with sour cherry sauce, garnished with REAL whipped cream; my husband had a coffee-banana pie, again topped with the real whip. Our drinks--both alcoholic and mocktail were perfectly made by the expert classic bartender. The other HUGE thing I noticed was that the menu, with its reasonable amount of choices, was not the same old same old that you seem to find EVERYWHERE. The chef, whose name I believe is Jason, has made dining at the Ebbitt Room a unique experience and therefore truly extra-special. I understand that this menu chances with the seasons as using fresh, local ingredients are very much incorporated in the planning. This dining experience was worth every penny and I could not ask for anything more! My birthday was indeed very HAPPY!

Like this little bar in Cape May. The adjoining room with the fireplace was a nice place to enjoy our cocktails. Bartender Dan was friendly, knowledgeable, and made a nice drink. Although not huge, they have an eclectic albeit pricey selection of alcohol. Bourbons like Old Rip Van Winkle, Weller 12, and Blantons, for example. Did not have dinner but enjoyed the bar.

Excellent food and drink. A great historic CM location. Service is outstanding. Not to be missed. Can dine inside or out. Full menu or bR menu.

What a charming surprise! Was not expecting that food to be as elevated and delicious as it was. I mean, I was expecting "good" but this was great. Much more sophisticated than expected-- everything from the décor (place was decked out for the holidays), to staff to menu selections and even some of the other guests. The piano player was the perfect touch for a classy, holiday ambiance and the perfect "pair" to some Smokey cocktails. Ordered scallops for dinner, which apparently are a Cape May specialty (now you know), which were exquisite. I'm so happy to have found this place and look forward to dining there again.

Unfortunately I can't comment on our meal last night since we were never seated! We had a very disappointing experience. We booked NYE dinner reservations IN JULY. Arrived at the restaurant an hour early for drinks, and were still not seated 40 minutes PAST our reservation time. And we were definitely not the only group in that situation. The manager Zachary was unable to manage the dining room and could not get tables turned and cleared. We have had similar problems in the past here. Beware if you have any kind of timetable for your evening. There is NO guarantee here that you will receive any timely service. Surprised and disappointed since this is a Cape Resort. Seems to be a trend here in the last year or so.

Forgot to take a photo until we were halfway through our meals, hence this hacked up chicken. But let it be a testament to how fantastic our food was. Great experience from start to finish. Porch is drafty so bring a jacket if you’re dining in the cooler months, but the atmosphere was spectacular.

It was very festive and beautiful. Our food was delicious. By the way a great improvement from our last time. Thumbs up!. Finally, our server/advisor Nick was the absolute best.

I had a reservation that i had to cancel due to illness, called restaurant to cancel and they charged me 60 dollars on my credit card for not cancelling within 24 hours. I get it that it says that on website but i was doing them a favor and not showing up sick in the restaurant. They never mentioned it one time during the phone call when i canceled. In times of covid uncertainty i find this unacceptable. Definitely wont ever reserve again.

Best meal we had in Cape May all week. Perfect date night spot on the porch. Mussels and shashito peppers to start followed by pork chop and another entree (my boyfriend's, but I don't recall what it was). We will be back!

Excellent ambiance, from old-world charming interior to outdoor dining in perfect greenery chez the garden room, the Ebbitt Room is a standout experience in Cape May. Service and staff are super pleasant, well trained, and agreeably present. The food is excellent, especially for a resort town. They often have exquisite dinner specials, such as Wagyu beef from Japan (highest grade) and fresh fish from the area.

Second visit to this spot, not at all like the first. Restaurant was not full, we were rushed from the moment we started. Server began telling us the specials before our party was fully seated. Food and drinks were good but we were still rushed from start to finish. We felt like we were not at all welcome that evening.

Perfect spot to people watch and have drinks. Sat in the porch to have a few drinks and apps. Calamari was mediocre and the oysters were very salty. The highlight was talking to guest and watching the horse carriage.
