My daughters and their friend did the spring break baking class today. It was baking cupcakes and decorating them as well as cookies. I picked my kids up at the end of class and they showed me their decorated cupcakes and cookies. They looked very cute. They seemed to have a nice time; however, they did tell me the teacher seemed strict and even irritated at some of the kids for talking too much. They couldn’t wait to try a cupcake, so we all took a cupcake to eat. We all took one bite and could not eat them. They were dense and dry!! They were terrible! We also tried the cookies and they are not good either. After contacting the owner, Colleen, I was told they were vegan cupcakes and made with vinegar and oil!! I asked if she was a vegan bakery and she stated no they are not a vegan bakery. My only thought at this point is the cupcakes were cooked this way to cut cost, because why else make them this way? Butter and eggs are the most costly ingredients. $150 was spent for the three kids to attend the class and the cupcakes are not even edible. We have 18 cupcakes and 12 cookies heading to the garbage can. We should have been told she would be baking vegan cupcakes, because we never would have signed up. Unfortunately, we won’t be signing up for future classes.

Tried to pickup a cupcake for my father’s birthday and upon walking in the store, I was told to “wait a moment”. The owner did not want me entering the building and asked if I was there to pickup an order. I stated that I just wanted to buy a cupcake and she said “we don’t have any”. Very disappointed with my experience. Hoping to let others know that this is NOT a bakery or a storefront.

I first found this business when my husband and I moved to Hamburg 2 years ago. First interaction with the owner was at The Sussex County Fair this summer (2023); she was pleasant explained her cookie countdowns that she was selling, and told us how to order them. My mother was not with us that day and went to the shop to purchase some cookies/cupcakes just to try before we ordered a whole countdown. Upon my moms arrival, she walks into the store and immediately is yelled at by the owner asking why she’s there that she needs to get out. The owner states she’s not open to the public for purchasing products and is only there for people to pick up online orders that they’ve placed. My mom left, and when she got home the website and Facebook page state NOTHING that you cannot just go to the storefront to purchase any baked goods. It also states their hours that they’re still open. Trying to give the business the benefit of the doubt, my mom ordered a Halloween countdown for my niece. She received an email that the order would be ready for pick up on October 10th. So October 10th, my mom goes to pick up the order, and no one is at the shop. She calls the phone number, and the owner tells my mom that she is JUST starting those orders and she hopes to have them completed by Thursday, but no guarantee. Why did you send an email out stating that the order could be picked up on a certain date when you haven’t even made them yet?The owner is completely disorganized, doesn’t know how to run a business, and is rude to potential customers. If you’re not interested in actually working I suggest you close your business. I DO NOT recommended purchasing anything from here. You’re better off going to a grocery store, at least they treat you with respect and meet deadlines.

Colleen and Katie did a spectacular job for my daughter's 10 birthday. All 16 kids learned how to decorate their own take home cakes that looked very impressive. We had kids from 9-18 years old and she kept things moving while they each got to go at their own pace. The cakes we very delicious and really a work of art. Katie went out of her way to make a special pull apart cake made into an elephant following the theme without me asking or even knowing, a complete surprise and nice touch. Perfect place for a 10 year old girl to have a birthday party. Thank you Cupcake Cafe

We were very pleased with our cake and cupcakes for a Scooby Doo themed birthday party. They came out so nice and she nailed the design ??. This was our first time ordering a specialty cake for my daughter who has a peanut allergy. It’s so great that they are peanut and tree nut free and can accommodate many allergies. ??

Had a GREAT experience with Cupcake Cafe in placing a cookie order! They made amazing cookies for my huband's Back To The Future themed surprise 40th birthday party. I contacted a few local companies and Cupcake Cafe not only gave the most economical price, but also would wrap the cookies individually at no extra cost! We were also able to do all communication over email which was helpful since all planning for the party was kept as a surprise. The cookies looked good and everyone at the party LOVED them. Soft and delicious!

I have ordered cookies from here many times! They are always beautiful, creative, and the hit of every party! At Christmas time we ordered cookie advent calendars (even a gluten free one) and they were so cute each day! I highly recommend!! Always delicious!

Called the store and the message said to text or leave a voice mail. I sent a text explaining that I was looking for a cake for my grandson's 1st birthday. Waited 3 days and did not receive a response so I called the store on a Saturday late morning. The owner answered. She was busy and didn't know if she could make the cake but said she would return my call on Monday either way to let me know. I never received a call back. Bad business!
