Bao by Kaya

Bao by Kaya is a nice spot if you're in the mood for Taiwanese/Chinese flavors. Ordered one of their combos which came with two baos and popcorn chicken. The Bao itself was soft with the meat inside being tender and flavorable. The popcorn chicken was pretty could but probably would've tasted a lot better if it was served fresh. Food came out in less than 5 minutes which was also a big plus. Will definitely need to come back and try some more!

I messed up big time. I ordered food (dan dan noodles) for my pregnant sister in law, and I forgot to ask no peanuts. Kai, who was out cashier, helped me out and made a new bowl for me with no peanuts. He made a new bowl without charging me for it as well. We wanted to return the other bowl with the peanuts but he insisted that we keep it. He was like "this time you good, but next time ima have to do it to you and charge you." I was so happy to see this place at Newport mall. I used to go to the midtown location near 51st street. My favorite item was the popcorn chicken but it was not on the menu at this location. After talking with the staff, he said he could make it for me if I like. Instead, I had pork belly bao, spicy chicken bao and spicy chicken dumplings. They were well seasoned and yum!
