We went there yesterday. Our friends from virginia were visiting and they wanted to try some good food.firstly we loved the ambience.though some telungu songs were not that soothing??We Had chicken biriyani/ goat biriyani , the quantity were really good, easily 3 people can share one bowl and chicken biriyani was so good,they gave it as medium spicy, as we requested. Godavari is one of the best restaurant in Jersey city heights. We went on Mother’s Day before and for to celebrate Mother’s Day with big group ( 18 people family) . And service was so good, food was even more delicious. We enjoyed our time at Godavari. Definitely recommend to everyone who loves South Indian and northern food. You should absolutely go to this place with group dinner or lunch , perfect for kids.

I can see why the overall rating is three stars here due to service but trust me when I say.. the Biryani here is amazing!!!! Don't go to JC or Edison expecting 5 star service.. go expecting 4-5 star food. We also tried the Dosa here and it was also pretty perfect. Their orange / red chutney is amazing! Go here for the food!!!
