After nearly 30 years of living in this area, I wandered into Sunburst Pies on my way home from the gym. Fantastic!! My first visit I got the key lime coconut pie and a beef empanada. The pie received rave reviews from everyone that night and the empanada was truly one of of the best I've had. Subsequent visits were similar, with a knock out Blueberry and apple crumb pie , pork roll egg and cheese, empanada , sausage egg and cheese and chicken empanada , Oh, and their scones rock!
As we were on vacation at the NJ shore, took a long drive through various beach towns and noticed the Sunburst Bakery. After reading a lot of convincing reviews, decided to stop early on our way out of town for the peach scone (a bit of almond extract would elevate the fruit) and the artichoke, goat cheese, tomato and asparagus quiche. It was substantial and really creamy and that homemade crust! Added two small pies: the key lime was my absolute flavorite, creamy and just the right lime without tasting too sour. The other pie crust was lined in chocolate, loaded with layered bananas, crème topping and drizzled chocolate. Next trip, I’m trying more specialty treats! Thanks, Jay and staff for baking goodies! ?
Always searching for another new bakery while visiting NJ shore and after reading all the outstanding reviews on this Manasquan location, stopped by.Even though they are open for regularbusiness hours, the baked items don't last long.I parked and ran in to encounter a quaint, cozy establishment with glass cases full if baked goods. One artichoke, goat cheese, tomato and egg quiche to go, $24 plus a peach scone and two mini pies: one key lime and the other banana chocolate creme. Some savory & some sweet, to go!
Apple crumble pie was great
Awesome scones. Always fresh and bursting with flavor.
Wow! Had a cinnamon scone delicious and very light ! Doesn't feel like that I ate a brick. lol. Talked with the owner very nice also good strong coffee!!! Do yourself a favor and visit Sunburst Pie. Prices are very reasonable!
Wow. The soups and pies are amazing! Friendly owner and very reasonable prices.
Best pies ever. A little expensive, but key lime and chocolate cream pies are the best. I hope the one star person gets their pie. Response by owner was hilarious and put another entitled person in their place.
Seems most folks are on here ranting about the pies on here.... while the two "minis" I've had the opportunity to devour over the last couple of weeks were certainly worthy of silent nod of appreciation.... but seriously... I see not one mention to the brownies.... HANDS DOWN BEST BROWNIES EVER!!!
enjoyed a quiche from your store this weekend and it was the best quiche i've ever had! everyone must try
We try and stop here every time I'm down the shore. Best pies I've had in New Jersey. Favorites are the chocolate cream, and the coconut cream pies. The chocolate covered bananas are my sons favorite.
The breakfast empanadas are amazing! Great scones too!
Very quaint and friendly
If you're looking for excellent pies and scones, you've come to the right place. I just ordered pumpkin, pecan and key lime pies for Thanksgiving. They are All delicious and they will sell out. Best Key Lime pie I've had outside of Florida. Delicious crust and just the right amount of tartness. The pecan is scrumptious and is chocked full of nuts, as you'd expect. The scones come in a variety of flavors. The kids love chocolate chip, but I prefer the classic blueberry. Bucolic charm, amiable owner and delicious pastries in Squan. A must visit!
Sitting here now enjoying the artichoke, asparagus and goat cheese quiche. The scones are amazing as well. Great place for a fresh bite to eat.
