STILL waiting on a refund for a gift card that was purchased PRIOR to Christmas and never recieved. Extremely difficult to work with this owner. Makes promises and doesn’t fulfill them! Bad business.

I had my sisters birthday celebration here with about 20 guests.. the food was delicious, the fixed menus were easy and not complicated.. our server Ana was a delight to work with, always bringing more drinks, ice, glasses, food etc. without asking twice, she even took photos of us when she wasn't busy serving..AMAZING SERVER!!!! We will definitely go back and have another event here.. WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME AND FOOD WAS DELICIOUS ?

Not a welcoming place to eat. My husband and I booked a reservation for 7pm on Valentine's Day. We were told to wait 20 minutes, then the waiter proceeds to sit us outside in the cold. Very unprofessional service.

My son and I have always loved dining here until today. Parking is great and so is the ambiance. Service was an abomination! You literally had to get up to walk over to them to get attention and we were the only people there with at least 6 people working there. First they brought us regular coke instead of diet! I'm diabetic so that would have caused a problem if I didn't notice the taste difference. They brought pita triangles which were burnt and drenched in oil. I ordered a burger medium and got a piece of charcoal! I unfortunately bit into it and couldn't get the ash taste out of my mouth. They brought me another which was fine, but my first bite had a piece of bone in it... ugh. I knew I should have just cancelled everything and left. I totally lost my appetite and felt nauseous. Will never go back!I did notice staff was different, so Google owner which is Wei chen...nice Greek name!

We were there this Saturday and the atmosphere was so quaint and lovely. The waiter was so accommodating. The owner Nick was so nice. We had ordered the appetizer for 2 which was great and yummy and very filling. We each ordered an entree gyro platter which my husband loved and I ordered a chicken gyro. We were both full from the appetizers that we ended up taking home the entrees. We of course had greek coffee and shared a dessert I wish I could remember it but it was so yummy and delish! We will definitely be back again. Everyone was so pleasant. Loved it!!!

Surprisingly good food. The owner/manager seemed a little surly but would order from again .. just maybe not sit in.

The restaurant was quiet, uncrowded, and pleasant. Service was wonderful and personal. We got all questions answered and got great recommendations for dishes to order. The food was appetizing and plentiful, definitely worth the price. We both had leftovers after the meal and took them home, happy that we could have another taste of the Greek Tavern the next day! Yum!

Terrible way to run a business. Reservations are meaningless. Go to Stamnos.
I went on a Sunday afternoon with 4 friends. There is plenty of parking - a serious plus in Montclair! It was pretty empty. The ambience is nice (though I suspect it is noisy when it is crowded). Our server was pleasant and efficient. We ordered the dip platter for the table and it was really good. The pita wedges were fresh and nicely herbed. I ordered the full moussaka. I was a little surprised it did not come with any side (in fairness, none was mentioned on the menu). I wasn't super impressed with it, though. The meat was kind of over-ground (is that a word), and the sauce wasn't very flavorful. Nothing really wrong with it, but not what I as hoping for. I had a cappucino to end. It was also oddly gritty and flavorless. Almost tasted like instant, though it probably wasn't. Maybe it was just an off day, as my companions had all been before and recommended it. I might give it another go, just because I do like Greek food and they do have a good parking situation.

Never sat down to eat at Greek taverna but have ordered to go many times and the food is always good. I recommend the spanakopita and haloumi along with mousakka and chicken platter.

We use the Greek Taverna catering for my sister's baby shower off-site. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious, the portions were very plentiful, and the prices were great. We got so many compliments about the food. Harry was a delight to work with. This was not our first exp with this restay rant and won't be the last!

we had food catered through here for a party! Everything was delicious! We will definitely use them again!
