This sun-shined Street, is seconds off of Broad street Newark. Cafe Airlie is like walking into Cheers (The 80’s TV show where everyone knows your name). The owner/ manager is the friendliest person. Calling everyone that walk in by name. I soon felt like I was eating breakfast in my living and talking with my family. Everyone one that came in seems to interact. It really felt like home. The breakfast platter was yummy. Yesterday I had a chopped salad. Checkout their menu. I’m sure you’ll find something you like. Shop local. Eat with friends or family. This cafe was clean and had spacious seating. The staff was friendly. Come on in.Parking: Plenty of places to park and walk over .Kid-friendliness: The owner seams to be friendly with the school kids. I think that is Awsome since they are future members of this community.

My boyfriend was craving a hot pastrami sandwich for lunch and looked all over Newark’s downtown area for a good place. Boy oh boy were we lucky to find this cute deli hidden between shops in the middle of Commerce Street! The sandwiches we ordered were tasty, grand in size and appropriately priced! This will definitely be our go-to shop for sandwiches from now on!! The cooks and staff were beyond friendly as well as professional. We absolutely recommend Cafe Airlie!!!!

This place is amazing-the food was good and the prices were affordable! It is so rare to find a place that is able to do both these days. Highly recommend! Let’s keep these kinds of places in business! I am tired of paying $6 for a cup of coffee!! They were also friendly and the place was clean and nicely painted.

Great tasting sandwiches, however the wait is awful. Expect to be here 15 minutes or more if you don't order ahead of time. Cashier completely forgets to process orders and gets distracted most of the time.
They offer the best pastrami & corned beed sandwich ? I've been to this place for years since it is close to where I work. I revisited this lovely place last week, as for first time in 3 years post pandemic, and the owner still remembers my name ? and the price is still the same as pre-pandemic with the same 5 star tastes ?

Upset. If it says a place closes at a certain time isn’t the expectation that you should get served until that time comes? I arrived before closing and I was not served because they said they were closed. This is bad customer service especially if the doors are still unlocked.It’s not only about the food. If you won’t stick to your hours then change them. Simple.Nevertheless, their subs are great.

The only time they picked up the phone was 10 mins before they opened and told me to call back … I HAVEN’T BEEN ABLE TO GET THROUGH SINCE.. multiple times on different days trying to call and place a order and they never pick up
