I used to come here in person long ago, back when it was under another name or management. I searched for this place but couldn't find it under the old name. I was happy to have thought to search by location as it is placed in an usual area of Newark. Very much like my earlier visits it was busy and the bread was freshly baked. There is no day old bread present here and you can most definitely taste that. The sandwiches are hearty and delicious. They have great and varying options to choose from and they aren't stingy about packing it on. I usually order a variety of sandwiches and almost everytime atleast one traditional Italian special. Here there are multiple ways to get the Italian special so look through your options for what you want. I chose the option with Turkey, Pepperoni and Cappicola though there's usually no turkey in my traditional Italian. It was so good, I forgot to snap a pic for Yelp lol. They have condiments and add on choices which serve very well because depending on my pick I could go for sweet or hot peppers. My son chose the steak egg and cheese and said it was very good, the meat tasted good though he expected a higher grade of quality. My daughter had a bacon egg and cheese and was quite impressed with how big of a difference the bread itself made. I did also discover them in UE for delivery as well so that's cool.

As the owner promised I got a new order today and the sandwiches were fresh I got my order as requested. I am now willing to re-order from here again. Thank you for honoring your promise.Initial Review: I just ordered for the first time and I am very disappointed. We ordered cheese on the sandwiches and no cheese came on them. The tuna doesn't taste fresh and it has a weird bitter taste. I had to throw away the sandwich. We ordered chips they didn't come but we were charged. Very disappointed wouldn't recommend or order from here again.

I should have took a photo of the food but it was too good to interrupt. The staff was very welcoming and sociable. This place has a great design.

Definitely a very good sandwich spot - cold deli meat subs are the way to go here. It's a grab and go type of place, not much space to dine in and no A/C, but the sandwiches are worth it the walk. They remind me of the South Jersey/Philly quality subs I grew up eating that are honestly hard to find around here. My favorite is the turkey sandwich with bacon added.

It's a sandwich shop and not the best service. It feels like going to the soup kitchen like in Seinfeld.... otherwise, the sandwiches are okay but I have had chicken that I think was definitely on the raw side and/or microwaved. It is one of the few games in town especially now that Subway closed.

I walked in at 2:30pm to grab a mad turkey for lunch. as i walk in, I'm told they're closed. being their website says they close at 4. terrible service! Hero king is dead to me moving forward. RIP

I ordered a Chicken Cheese steak Sandwich. However, the chicken was grilled and definitely did not taste like cheese steak. The sandwich was not bad. I definitely finished it, the hot peppers with mayo and ketchup really tasted good! I don't think I will order again, the delivery guy was kinda rude
