Today I was surprised by the unfriendly attitude of the owner. I wanted to pay for my breakfast with rolled quarters…. He declined to accept that. By law, money is money and he should have accepted that. He said “I’d rather not’. I’ve heard there is a shortage of change so I thought this could be a good thing for this restaurant. This indicates to me that he does not care about his customers and doesn’t mind causing me to feel some kind of way about this. In short he just didn’t care, which is a problem. Another thing was the plate was not very generous for the high prices that are charged. I’m a year round resident and repeat customer here but I won’t go back.

Had a delicious crispy cod wrap and side salad and finished off with Lemoncello cake. A cute atmosphere and attentive service.

Sat outside and had a great breakfast, everyone was so nice. Enjoyed our day in town, looped back later for some frozen yogart. Perfect summer day.

Bringing new friends and family to Ocean Grove and choosing the Starving Artist for breakfast was intentional. I am sorry it was not the best introduction to one of my favorite places in the country . Will not return.

Really think this place is quaint & charming & I want to love it, but they need to change their hours. They claim to close at 2:00. Came all the way over on our bikes only to be sternly turned away at 1:15 & told they couldn't accommodate our party of two. If that's the case then don't advertise that you are open until 2:00. The host should not be dealing w the public as he is mean, condescending, and seems to enjoy turning people away.

I am trans/lgbtq. The starving artist and it's staff embrace everyone who isn't intolerant. The food is excellent and you can tell it's prepared by people that enjoy making food. The servers are responsive and polite. And the atmosphere? Well it's one of my favorite places to go because it has an inner and outer Garden that is impressive and really sets the energy for the placeParking: Street parking generally won't have any problems but they do get packed. As any good place will

Love this place, their patio, and the people. The server called me Trey Anastasio and sat me at a beautiful table on the patio. A few slices of French toast later, I was having the best breakfast of my summer.

They were able to accommodate our group of 14 easily on a Saturday morning. The service was great and we all enjoyed our food!

A staple of the Ocean Grove community, the food is good and the experience always leaves me in a better mood. I like the crab cake sandwich, the breakfast burrito and the Starving Artist breakfast. Arnold is welcoming and funny. His staff is always great! Waits can be a little long if you arrive at peak times on season. Inside seating is charming. Outside seating is a treat. Enjoy!Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids especially in season. Baby friendly.

The pancakes with blueberries were very good. I thought the prices were good too. Nice eating outdoors. My friends had eggs. They were happy too. Coffee was good.
