I ordered the top of the line package for my salon full of women and their husbands for our Holiday party. It cost me close to $2000 once I paid for the dinner and two trays extra. They were very disorganized, the food was cold and not at all "top of the line" as advertised. Most upsetting I called initially on a recommendation. They did not tell me they changed owners and were not the people i was seeking. They lied and said "yes" that they had handled my friends party. I had been talking up the food for months and was very embarrassed at the party that it definitely didn't live up to the hype. The delivery person showed up late and very disorganized. She didn't seem to know what she was doing at all. I would NOT recommend this place at ALL!
Got a Holiday party for our salon catered by Joey G's in Newtown. They came highly recommended from friends of ours. It was the worst experience I have ever had. They charged us $42 a head for Filet mignon, crab cakes, asparagus and mashed potatoes and a tray with shrimp and scallops. They arrived an hour and 15 minutes late. The person delivering spilled juices from the food all over the clean floors. The fruit and cheese trays we added additionally were pretty but definitely not worth $200 additional. The dessert was tiny and not good. The "filet" was more like roast beef or prime rib....sliced on a tray and cold. The crab cakes were like frozen ones we could have bought at Costco. There were 12 asparagus on a tray that was for 27 people. We had very few shrimp and scallops and they were not good and smelled very fishy. I ended up sending my husband out to buy additional shrimp and dessert. I called the business afterward to try to resolve things properly and the person who I spoke with was belligerent. He took no responsibility for the fact that they showed up an hour and a half late, that the food was not of the caliber to charge $42 a head for, and refused to do anything to make things right. What an unfortunate decision.
The place is located inside of State street bank's building. You can eat here sandwich or the daily menu. The place is clean and friendly, the prices are low but the is no selection. Sandwich/panini/wrap or daily menu. Worth a try, the sandwich was good, you can get a lot of filling and a free press :)
Breakfast is the best; deli has whatever you can imagine for lunch - or takeout for dinner. The blackboard menu options for sandwich combinations has never let me down. Tried the catering once, and they did a fine job. Would use them again.
This place has gone way downhill. Years ago Joey and his family on the restaurant, but in the last year the ownership has changed hands. The quality of food has dropped significantly, as has the coffee and other options. What was once a nice mom and pop deli is really nothing more than a last choice and the Newtown area to get something to eat. I’m not going back for a while and I suggest others do the same. Avoid this place.
Big space for sitting and decent environment for lunch
