I was disappointed with my NY Strip steak as it was rather grizzley. All the other sides and service were very good.

We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary and expecting the same quality of food as we always receive. Unfortunately my husband's steak was not tender and basically tasted unseasoned. I had the Chilean bass which was mushy and tasted undercooked. We are frequent customers to Char and this meal was the worst we ever experienced. We were extremely disappointed, especially for the price of a “ Steakhouse “.

This is a wonderful restaurant. Very upscale. The food was great. So was the atmosphere. Only problem (and it did not spoil the time we had) was that the wait staff was a little discombobulated. Bread guy came by with 4 or 5 options. The popovers were great. Why doesn't he carry butter? I asked one of the runners for butter but it never came. After the main course, we ordered a dessert to share. 2 of us asked for coffee. Dessert came and it was delicious. Coffee is still MIA. Staff was friendly and personable, just a little forgetful. We'll be back. Have a feeling we caught them on a bad night.

Surf and turf was excellent, mashed potatoes, and brussels sprouts were on point. My boss eats all over the world and was very pleased which is impressive.

Always a wonderful pricey meal at CHAR. You get what you pay for. It was Sunday night we sat outside it was delightful quiet and not too hot. Food was outstanding and just as we ordered it. We celebrated an anniversary and got a free dessert. Of course I will be back. I still don't like the credit card fee, but I am slowly getting used to it.

My wife and I brought my sister here last night. We have dined here before, but my sister had not. My sister's birthday had just passed, and I was supposed to let our waiter, Steven, know, but I completely forgot. Luckily, Steven had picked up on a comment my wife had made earlier and brought over a crème brûlée dessert with candle. Thank you, Steven, for saving me. In addition to the second-to-none service provided by Steven, dinner was fantastic, as always at Char. My sister and I both had a Cowboy Ribeye and my wife had Surf and Turf. Everyone enjoyed their meals completely. We always start off with the Meat and Potatoes appetizer, which was also fantastic, as usual. The ambiance of the place is also great. We had wanted to sit outside by the fire pits, but the weather did not cooperate. Still, we were seated at a very comfortable table where the noise level was low enough for us to enjoy conversation. If you haven't been to Char, why not? We'll certainly return.
We sat indoors for my son's birthday. Service was excellent. Calamari was plentiful and delicious to start. One steak came out medium when ordered medium rare. We didn't send back because it was still very good. Kung Pao Brussels sprouts were a solid side choice. Price of crab cakes really has gone up since we started coming here 10+ years ago. They are always good, but so hard to justify the price sometimes. We come typically once a year on a birthday.

Our dinner was fabulous, as always! Our dinners were perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. The pumpkin cheesecake dessert special was probably the best I've ever had. Odd thing was the chocolate mousse cake that we ordered could have served 6 and was a little bizarre to be presented with a full cake. But we always enjoy our special dinners at Char and of course will be back!

It was our first time dining on the patio. It was wonderful out there. Our server was exceptional, as was the food and drink. Steak cooked to perfection! The Tuna Tartare was fresh! We tried the Lobster Dumplings for the first time and they were flavorful, a perfect completment!
