Went to dine in March 2024. Food was amazing and the staff was friendly and so helpful. My hubby ordered the Jerk Chicken which was very tender and flavorful. I had the shrimp and grits. My family is from New Orleans and we know how to make this dish. Lucky Bull's version was the best I have ever had! Delicious! We will eat here everytime we travel through Carlsbad!

Food is pretty good a little pricey. The wait was long, our waitress was good. We were told by the hostess we could go to the bar and order something. While waiting to order the bartender tried to run us off. She was a little rude about it. She did take our order once we told her the hostess said we could do so. So her attitude was the only negative, maybe she was having a bad day. All in all I would go back

Travelling through Carlsbad and we stopped at this restaurant for dinner. It seemed vibrant and even though they told us a 30 minute wait we were seated in 10! The sever was pleasant and food arrived in a timely fashion.It tasted OK, nothing great but nothing too bad. Definaly on a par with what I could make in my own kitchen. The difference was the over priced food. I would have rated this place 4 stars until I got the bill and they have added about 3% surcharge for paying with a credit card. No where in the restaurant was there a clear sign indication this, no where on the menu and certainly I was not told before I began to order! I asked the server and she said it was charged by the restaurant to used a credit card. Who does this? We are practically a cashless society! So in short I pay for the food I eat, I pay for it for someone to bring it to my table and now I pay for the use of a credit card. Shame on this restaurant. Beware!

Stopped here on a road trip out west, and it was by FAR the best meal we had!! Burgers were excellent, server was great, hostess was so kind. Only thing is I’ll probably never be in Carlsbad again to go back!
They were really busy when we arrived but go seated quickly. Good selection on the menu and plenty of beers on tap too! Best options are the burgers - lots of choice and seemed very popular - as did the dirty chips. Definitely worth checking out this place if passing through Carlsbad!
