They have a black security man who is very stupid, he doesn't go crazy and just because I tripped he didn't let me in and I already found out that every time he does that with other people they should kick him

I don’t usually post 4-star reviews. Where’d the 5th star go? Not wild about the atmosphere (don’t hate it, don’t love it). But the service is so excellent that I almost went 5 stars anyway. The battered fish was excellent (and not overcooked!). Fries were fine. Tartar sauce a little too artsy for my tastes. Loved the house Silvercoin margarita (maybe too much ?). Can’t overstate the excellence of the service, which WILL bring me back. Thank you, Evan and Lain, for taking good care of me!

My wife and I ate at Boxcar for the first time for an event with the Santa Fe Foodies group. Yes, it is a sports bar, but the food here is quite good (4.5 out of 5); there is a vast and very interesting menu that features a lot of local food providers. We started with a cup of the “famous Green Chile Beef Stew,” which was excellent. The beef did melt in our mouths, the broth was delicious, and the various vegetables and green chile were well worth a try. My wife had the Fish & Chips; they were pretty good but not the best in town (which so far goes to if you can believe it, Bang-Bite food truck). But yes, it is well worth trying if you love Fish & Chips. I had the Ruben Sandwich, which I try often when I see it offered. $23 seemed like a lot, but it was really worth it; this is a superb rendition. The pastrami (not corned beef, according to the waitress) was excellent, moist, and flavorful, and the Sauerkraut was terrific! Great bread and sauce (a take on Russian dressing). I decided to substitute onion rings for the fries; they were huge, crispy, and quite good. We had to try dessert, so we split the Creme Brulee Trio (Strawberry, Chocolate, and traditional). This may have been the best Creme Burlee I’ve ever had; it’s a game changer. Do try it.Kiki, our server, was excellent, the place was super busy, but she took great care of us. The food came from the kitchen quickly. All in all, I can highly recommend you try Boxcar. We found a good dozen different options on the menu we would love to try in the future.

The environment was AWESOME, attentive staff, and a reasonably priced in house beer made watching March Madness for this homeless shelter living woman feel alive! Cheers!

The new downtown location is nice and big, but overpriced. There are other places in the downtown area to drink and eat at a better value.

Nice bar, however, when we received our bar bill, our 4 beers each had an extra $1.50 per beer charge for adding green food coloring for St. Patrick's day without informing us ahead of time.

My companion and I went there to explore. Stayed for drinks and listened to a country trio called The Rhett Haney band from Colorado. I not much into CW music, but this group was great. They played a great selection of music to dance to. I hope I have the opportunity to see them again soon. The service was very good. Our server checked on us regularly.
