This is my favourite cafe in halifax. Its a hub of the community, food is fantastic and very affordable plus they serve the best coffee in town. I highly recommend the alter eggo sandwhich ??Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level building

Oh, god love you, Alter Egos. Worst coffee in town, but I still go there pretty often. It's a community, it's a meeting place, it's a perch. Bobby hangs out there, so it's automatically a g.o.a.t. establishment and ally. Honestly if they figured out how to use the espresso machine it would kill the vibe. Never change, Alters.

One of my favourite places, ever. Such good energy in this place, very kind and genuine staff, always great music. And their bean burrito is insanely delicious. I don't even like beans that much but id live off them.

Their breakfast sandwich is wonderful with all the yummy stuff you could dream of, egg, avocado, bacon, mayo, lettuce, Sriracha, and cheese all served on a bagel? Breakfast sandwich for the soul! The staff were also very kind and helpful. The environment was cozy and bright. A great place to pop in for a hot beverage or somewhere to while away an afternoon.

K so I work near here and go in all the time but yesterday I woke up literally having dreamt of an oat milk peppermint mocha with an extra shot, which is crazy cause I'm not a mocha kind of person but tis the season I guess. Like I don't even think I LIKE peppermint mochas but hey it seemed like a premonition. Anyways I told the lovely person behind the counter this and they made me literally the drink of my dreams like it tasted just like in my dream and how did you even DO that. It was perfect and now that is all I want, all the time

I greatly enjoyed the week I spent in Halifax, NS at this hostel/cafe combo. I stayed in the dorm-style room with 6 beds, and found it very satisfactory. I had not stayed in a hostel before, and was nervous but excited to try it out as a 41 year old female. I was initially concerned about having difficulty sleeping with multiple people in a room and no air conditioning, but found that a pair of earplugs was tremendously helpful, a fan in the window kept things comfortable, and I was walking enough every day to be pretty worn out and able to sleep in spite of somewhat active roommates. There was one night that I had a bunk mate who was a bit too restless for me, and found that staff in the hostel were very accommodating in allowing me to switch bunks for the following nights. I greatly enjoyed interacting with staff, others hostel guests, and neighborhood cafe regulars. Fabulous experience, planning to go back!
