Delightful experience. We had a danish croissant with lemon curd and pistachios, avocado toast (best ever tried), and sunshine yogurt sundae (amazing). I would definitely recommend this lovely place. Staff friendly and helpful!

Everything you could possibly want in a local cafe! The food was amazing with great selection of sandwiches, the coffee was great, and the service was very cheerful and friendly! Great place to eat

First time customer experience.

The servers were truly friendly and helpful. I ordered an avocado toast with an egg, but first the egg was forgotten, then the egg laden avocado was accidentally dropped on the floor. The first I knew was when a server brought a delicious muffin in compensation as I waited for my avocado egg toast. This blew my carbohydrate budget for two weeks!! But the women serving were cheerful and joyful! What a wonderful way to start off our day.

This is one of the BEST coffee shops I have ever been to. The food is fresh and high quality, coffee is strong, service is friendly and vibe is peaceful. Loved this place so much!!!

great food, and great drink selection. staff were lovely and the environment is beautiful too. highly recommended for a quick bite or hangout spot!

Cute place, but so weird that their kitchen closes at 2:00 even though they’re open until 7:00. It would be helpful if that said so on their website. It isn’t possible to order soups or anything that isn’t pre-made after 2:00. I was rather disappointed, not to mention confused, when I arrived at 4:30 and couldn’t order fresh food.

Happened to land here as in the area - neat little neighbourhood cafe. Great sandwiches and baked goods. Nice variety of coffees etc.

Fantastic owners and management! They will treat you right!

Love this place! Food, service, and overall vibe is all one of a kind. On top of delicious food (sandwiches, pastries, and coffees), they also sell local, hand crafted items like candles, soaps, and greeting cards. My only complaint is the space is very small so it's hard to rely on getting a table and can feel cramped during the lunch rush. Otherwise, the place is A1!

Wonderful cafe that sets itself apart with delicious, fresh food, wonderful coffee, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Skip the Starbucks across the street, and comes here instead!

Great place for a hearty breakfast and good coffee!! Amazing vibe with 80s music, open windows with fresh breeze and friendly staff!

I had the smoked salmon scramble, one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Fresh, delicious and perfect portion sizes.

A beautiful little spot with a perfect mix of good atmosphere and charm. The lunch and breakfast menu is limited, but appealing; with a quality over quantity approach that I can't be mad at. The drink menu is varied and has something for everyone, from regular drip coffee to fancy lattes. Free WiFi and friendly service is the cherry on top.

Oh my GAWD the breakfast sandwiches are so good! Dilly Dally will definitely be my first stop ne t time I'm back in Halifax!

I love this place. The owners are so wonderful and always upbeat considering they are run off their feet along with their amazing staff. Never a long wait, no matter how busy and always so personable, you definitely feel like family here!!

Dilly dally is great. The food is lovely and the coffee is awesome. It's no surprise that it's a Halifax favorite! So you may have difficulty sometimes finding a place to sit. I had the eggs on toast and also the egg Sammy. Both were great. Staff are super friendly too! Fantastic for breakfast.

This is my happy place. Brilliant coffee, a wide range of meticulously crafted sweet and savory foods (little bites or full meal, whatever you want). Always buzzing and happy and busy and yet never backed-up or over-crowded. Service is perfect, attentive, zippy, and with a smile. Bonus: buy a bag of Fog City coffee beans to take home. Better yet, buy five bags because you'll be returning for them anyway -- an amazing roast, you'll turn your home kitchen operation into a first rate coffee-house for those days you don't have time to Dilly Dally in person.

i always enjoy this cafe. The staff. food and atmosphere is totally enjoyable and always appreciated. Oh yes the coffee is tasty too. However, this evening I saw fruit flies on the big boy cinnamon buns. When I mentioned it to the staff, I strongly feel they did not take me serious. They were cleaning up as it was nearing closing time. They put the 3 remaining buns in a covered cake dish by the cash register to sell. Is it appropriate to sell pastry's that had fruit flues crawling over them? I consider this as a problem I recommend you to correct this problem

I truly wish Dilly Dally had more locations. They're coffee and drinks are great; not the best in the city, but the service and super friendly staff more than makes up for it. They have a consistently fresh and updating menu for food items despite the small quarters, and you will honestly feel more comfortable here then a coffee shop you frequent daily.

What an amazing, quaint coffee shop. The service was great and the breakfast was incredible. I had the egg & toast with a sweet potato, potato, apple hash, can't say enough about it. You have to eat here!

First time and will not be my last. Loved the atmosphere and I just had time to grab a coffee and go. A small but intimate setting, always great to find local coffee shops compared ironicly to Starbucks accross the street.

This is the best coffee shop / tiny kitchen I've ever been in. The atmosphere is vibrant!! the energy is electric and the owners are the most amazing people you will ever meet they are there daily the work hard and have wonderful people working along side them. They are a small local business that supports other small local businesses . If you want a great experience, the best coffee ever, and awesome food to go with it then check it out !!!

Been to over 50+ countries and thousands of breakfast/brunch places, this is by far my favorite place. Tasty and hearty dishes all made with quality ingredients. Incredible staff team here as well, true embodiment of the warmth and charm of the city. You won't be disappointed with anything you pick here!

My friend and I enjoyed the coffee here. Amazing light roast called Gucci. Packed with flavour. My scrambled egg with smoked salmon was delicious. The cheese sammie was fine too although small. Pity the tables are tiny and fairly tricky to fit everything.

Great food, excellent customer service! A happy place!

Busy busy busy. Reasonable prices and some interesting menu items. Good luck getting a chair.

This is the best cafe in the city. I always go here for my Golden Latte, they offer so many milk alternatives its crazy! I prefer to have mine with coconut milk. I also ordered an oatcake, it's not normally something I would order but, this thing was huge and dipped in chocolate. Again, it was so good I didn't get a picture. They now serve beer too! The decor is absolutely the cutest thing, I love the turquoise and cactus'.

Great local coffee shop with homemade treats, sandwiches, bagels, soup, and more. They are also licensed, so you can have an adult beverage if you like. Starbucks recently opened across the street. Don't go there. Support local!

Simply amazing! It's a good feeling to have an at home feel. Employees are extremely nice and like seeing your friends.

The coffee and drinks are on the weak side. But drinkable. Very small and tight. If you go here with more than 2 people just skip over to the Starbucks. The shop is fun. The vegan snacks are pass for me. It's a lifestyle coffee shop, so if you does match you will be disappointed.

Best oatmeal ever. Don't bother with Starbucks across the street. This is the place to be! A very yummy americano and creative steel cut oats with pumpkin butter. YUM! Just don't make the mistake that I made in ordering it to-go. Their to-go containers for hot food suck (!). Problem? Not really. Just sit and enjoy.

I went to Dilly Dally twice and both times the service was stupendous however the coffee and iced coffee I had on both occasions was easily the worst I have ever had. Sadly I ended up throwing out both cups and both times I was unable to get seating due to it being a small place and very limited seating. I wish nothing but good things for this little business as the staff are lovely, however sadly due to the coffee being undrinkable I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

This nice cafe was a short walk from our hotel. Coffee was great and our breakfast was very good, too. After we found this place we stopped looking for other options.

I really enjoyed this little coffee shop. Pleasant staff, great coffee, and delicious food! I had the avocado toast, which was fresh and creative. Great back deck seating, dog friendly! Would definitely go back if I lived in Halifax.

We travel to Halifax 2-3 times a month and this is our go to morning coffee shop. Atmosphere and staff are great. Always a friendly smile and great coffee. Morning Glory Vegan muffins are tasty too. Definitely go!!!

Jordan M.

Neat small kitchen atmosphere, although they were out of fruit. The deck area and coffee were on point but I was a little let down half of their menu wasn't available. The avocado toast was really good (they did have those ingredients on hand).

Stopped in for a bite on a recent visit to Halifax... it was our first time but I can say it will not be our last. The place was cozy and full of patrons enjoying their drinks and home made treats. I had a Ham and Brie sandwich "best sandwich ever" I can't wait to go back to try some of the other menu items. If your in halifax this is one place you have to try.

Friendly, great coffee, and a wonderful vibe. I love going there to sit with one of their great bagel sandwiches and an espresso to watch the halifax populous walk by what seems to be the center of the Halifax world outside their windows. The farmers market on tuesdays is pretty great as well. For the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would go into the 'big box american coffe place' across the street. Seriously?? Buy local and take in the vibe.

Cute and quaint local coffee shop located on Quinpool. Seating is fairly limited but I've been able to find a seat any time I've been in.
