Both food and service were exceptional. Unfortunately, the inn will be pausing their restaurant service effective August 12th, 2023. I live in hope that they'll soon find a chef equally as accomplished as their current chef because the inn is a real gem in downtown Halifax and we'd welcome its quick return.

As I typically do, spent a fair amount of time researching restaurants to visit on our first trip to Halifax. Stories was consistently on 'best of' lists. Booked for first night, glad we did. Thought we'd have a drink in the area before dinner, didn't really find a place, so showed early for our reservation, had drinks in an adjacent 'living room', then had a great dinner. Our server was young but very knowledgeable. There were about 5 tables in the room, had nice chats with each. Was sad to see the restaurant is taking a 'pause' at the end of the month, which sounds pretty permanent. Hopefully something equally enjoyable will take its place.

Once again, Stories provided a wonderful fine dining evening. We have dined here several times, and it has always delivered an exceptional experience. We again had the great Faroe Island Salmon entree, and again it was spectacular. We are glad we had a chance to get back to Stories once more, before their announced closure later this summer. Perhaps it will return...if not, it will be well remembered by my wife and I as having been a top-tier restaurant in Halifax, delivering a quiet / romantic dining experience, and consistently exceptional food and service.

Everything from the greeting was fabulous. The quiet atmosphere, where you can talk to each other without shouting , to the service, the menu was delightful and expertly executed . Everything about this outing was first class .

I was a solo diner and was staying at the Halliburton so this was really convenient. I ordered 2 appetizers and a glass of wine. My server brought me the best bread - I could have devoured it. Both appies were fantastic and very generous portions.

It was above and beyond the best meal and dining experience either of us have had. We can not recommend it enough. Compliments to the chef on creating such a delicious menu, and the staff for creating a warm and welcoming environment. We will be back anytime we are in the city, that is a certainty.

Such a cool place to dine! We actually had a private room for four. Our server was excellent and the meal was sooooo delicious. Three of us had the striploin; cooked to perfection and served with crispy seasonal veggies. I would go back just to have this meal.
It was the best dinner I've had in a long time. Mallory was our server, and she gave us excellent service ?? highly recommend it!

Everything was absolutely amazing! I've had my fair share of nice steaks, but the striploin at Stories was out of this world. The staff were also super attentive and had extensive knowledge about everything on the menu. Big thank you to our server Mallorie for answering any of our questions and great service with a smile! I will definitely be coming back and bringing more friends and family around- it is a must-try spot!

Our server was very friend and welcoming. The food was very delicious and presented beautifully. The wine was also very good and very well presented to us. It was very quite and nice to have privacy. I enjoyed it very much and I will definitely be returning!
