For over 30 years, I’ve been walking the Earth hoping to find a burger as tasty as the Big Kahuna Burger Jules bit into in Pulp Fiction. I finally found it at Cheese Curds in Truro.
The Honolulu Burger is everything a great burger should be: juicy, packed with flavour, a little bit messy, and served with a generous side of fresh-cut PEI fries. It’s the real deal.
Forget the big chains. Cheese Curds wins hands-down for quality, quantity, and taste. Yes, I waited a few minutes, but for something hot, fresh, and made right, it was more than worth it.
This was my first visit, but definitely not my last.
I ordered the double smash burger online, when I went up the the area that said online orders I seen the employee finish up a online order and put it aside. Never asked for my name. Then he went and did up a burger for someone that was behind me. After he was done he started away from me so I asked if there was an online order for me. He grabbed the bag that he had been working on when I first came in. Not once asking for my name. Fries where too cold to eat and bugler bun was stale. Last time for me!
Worst poutine I've ever had, gravy tasted like water
This is great! If ya like Five Giys or Boom Burger on PEI.. like those spots but more stuff with poutine!!! One fries will feed 2 or 3!!
Food was delicious. Staff were excellent. Needs some touch up paint but all in all, I would definitely return!
Take Your Own Advice — The Food Is Already Cold Before It Reaches Us The delivery driver. Because you have zero methods of keeping your own food hot after it's made.
Too often, the food we’re sent to pick up is already cold—left sitting out without heat retention, no urgency to hand it off, and no accountability from the restaurant. Yet delivery drivers are expected to protect food quality with little support.
If this is truly about customer satisfaction, then the restaurant should take responsibility for keeping orders hot before they ever reach our hands. Expecting drivers—many of whom earn below minimum wage after expenses—to do more than the kitchen staff is not only unfair, it’s hypocritical. But yet the multi-million dollar chain restaurant can't have a method to keep their food hot after it's been cooked and waiting for a driver to accept the order?
And yet, this is the sign posted:

Stopped in on our way through on November 18th. Service was fantastic and very friendly. I ordered the 3 tacos with bulgogi steak and my partner ordered the monster mozzarella crunch burger with sweet potato fries.
The bulgogi steak was microwaved and thus was very chewy. Even with jalapenos, salsa and mango sour cream the tacos were almost tasteless and bland. I tried the meat on its own and it was just super underwhelming in flavour. I tried adding chipotle sour cream but it didn't really help much. Overall super disappointed in the tacos as they are one of my favorite foods (along with bulgogi).
My partners burger wasn't much different. The meat didn't seem seasoned at all and even coupled with the cheese patty (which was actually thick and crunchy like the menu says) it left a lot to be desired. We had jalapenos, red onions, chipotle mayo and sweet pickles on it but we had to add extra chipotle mayo to make it have anything worthy of actually finishing.
Sweet potato fries were pretty good but should have been crispier as they were a little on the soft side.
Staff was incredible but food wasn't anything to write home about

Burger and fries joint. Works like a 5 Guys. Order and sit down or take out when your meal is ready.

I just LOVE that this restaurant provides many different plant based options. If you have been looking to try a vegan burger (even if you aren't vegan) their vegan cheeseburger is absolutely incredible. It's scary how good it is. And the topping selection is heavenly. I also love that they provide the dairy free aspect to it as well. You can usually get veggie burgers all around town but they never offer plant based cheese as well. Good job Cheese Curds. The fries are also extremely fresh and delicious. This is an awesome place to grab a juicy bite and they have tons of different options to choose from. Definitely recommend.

Popped in randomly while traveling for work, and the staff is so nice! I got the Vietnamese burger and my coworker got a classic bacon, both were perfect.
I would recommend dropping in here anytime.

During this outing, I've driven halfway across Canada and back, eating at different restaurants along the way. By far, this was the best food I ate the entire trip. Very good quality food and amazing service. I would give it more than 5 stars if it was allowed. Had the "farmhouse" burger and it was absolutely phenomenal.
