Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

This used to be one of the best locations but something has happened recently and they have gone downhill. The bar where they make the food is always DIRTY with old crusty food bits and the utensils looks like they haven't been cleaned in days. If you get an order to go there is almost ALWAYS something wrong or it looks like someone wrestled with the food in the bag. The day crew is much better than the night crew so I would recommend going during the day if at all.

My 3rd visit is my last visit. Each visit was progressively worse. I see no real redeeming value in this place other than the convenience of the drive thru. The food is bland and way overpriced for what you get. $15 for 2 tacos that tasted like they were mostly lettuce, no cheese!?!, no sauce, just BLAND as can be and a side of stale rice and beans (also bland).There's a little mom and pop Mexican spot right across the street by the 7-11, I'll just go there instead from now on, I'm not wasting my time and money at this establishment again.

I eat here like once a week and usually its great. However this time the food wasn't up to par.
We always get the barbacoa (pork) burrito enchilada style. I'm not sure why they tasted so bad this time, but ugh!-!-!
Also, when I paid for the food at the register the cashier made a fairly big mistake. She charged me for an entire tres leches cake when I ordered a individual cake. They returned my $$ when I showed them the error, but it was another issue on top of the inedible burrito I received.
Admittedly this was the first and only time I regretted eating at Cafe Rio. Up until now everything has always been stellar.
That's my $.02 for the meal I purchased 2 weeks ago.

Gave me old leftover chicken in my salad. The worker saw me come in and left the counter so I had to wait for someone else to take my order. The guy kept asking me what I wanted on my salad and I kept telling him everything, like he didn’t know what comes on the salads. I had to ask for the tortilla strips that goes on the salad and he didn’t put any limes in there. I paid for a large cup and I had to grab my own cup because he walked away without giving it to me.
The chicken was so hard and dry I can’t even eat it. The extra sauce I paid for spilled all in the bag because they didn’t put the cap on right. Highly disappointed because the meal wasn’t cheap and I can’t eat it.

Terrible service! I ordered ahead on the app and it took over an hour to receive my food. No mention of a refund or free drink. It was terrible that people who walked in an hour after me were getting their food and walking out before me.

If you want to place an order and have your food messed up, this is the place to go! I used to order for my office fairly often, and multiple orders would be messed up every time. Figured it was because we were ordering a large number of things. But I ordered a salad with no tortilla (I have a dairy allergy and their tortillas are not a friendly food for me). Got my tortilla and it had a tortilla. With cheese. And all the meat was stuck in the cheese. When I took it back, I told them what happened, and -as they always do- they tried to blame me for the way it was ordered. Because No Tortilla is very confusing. I have had issues with this location literally every single time I go there. Stupid me thinking that maybe one day it will be a different story. It's a shame too, because I like their food. Just wish they knew how to make it correctly.

Changed review - got food poisoning from the questionable shredded lettuce. It was a bit brown in some spots, didn't think much of it but now I'm concerned about cross-contamination, lack of cleaning, or poor temp control on the line? Either way, I'm gonna caution eating at this location again for now.

I was very disappointed that one of my favorite places to grab a quick salad has gone in the toilet. There was a couple in front of me placing there order and they were out of grilled chicken and they didn't have tortillas made. The person over the tortilla griddle definitely didn't know how to cook the tortillas. The team that was working were all bickering with one another or they were huddled up talking amongst themselves instead of working. I just had to walk out because I couldn't handle the disorganization. Sad, but they have lost me as a customer.

Trashiest of all Cafe Rios ! Don’t waste your time. Team has very malpractice in hand washing and in hygiene. The team lacks management! Honestly a very low standard for me. No grilled chicken or tortilla at 4pm to make it all worse no customer care. Lack of common sense and preparation! Won’t be going back ever !

My mother enjoys cafe Rio. However, this location everytime I've gone, staff has been very slow resulting in long wait times and the drink bar is usually out of a good number of syrups and drinks. Each time I've gone either to pick up for myself or as a dasher staff seems to be meandering and full of attitude. If you can go to another location.

Sam and Joann are absolutely amazing! This is the best Cafe Rio in the city! Super quick service!

I ordered food online for me and someone else and came about 10 minutes after the order should have been done and ready for pickup and they had not even started my order yet, and they kept make other peoples order and did not fully prioritize my order so I had to wait an additional 12 minutes to get my order. I just got a refund and will never go here for food again…I did not want a rushed order or I did want them to make a mistake on my order or anything else…
