Hatsumi is a great new place in downtown LV. amazing unique dishes. Have an open mind and try many small dishes. We tried a few and enjoyed all of them. Make sure to book a table, since the restaurant isnt very big, and word of mouth is making this a hot spot.

We started with a trio of $ items off the happy hour menu - skewers, chicken wings and vegetable okonomiyaki. The 3 skewers, chef's choice, included beef, chicken and shishito peppers. All were very good, but the peppers proved to be too spicy for us. Food was delicious and tasty.

Hope this place opens back up soon, meant to write a review mos ago. This place is the freaking best, probably my favorite restaurant in all of town. All the food I've tried here was delicious, and it gets major points for originality. The chicken hearts were great and they have some of the best tongue I've tried. And that matcha coconut lime rum drink is one of the best dang drinks I've ever had.

Hatsumi is a Japanese izakaya and yakitori bar at Ferguson's in downtown Las Vegas. Seating is limited so, I would advise reserving a table, sit at the bar or come during non-peak hours. What's on the menu? Appetizers I've tried such as okonomiyaki (savory pancake with either shrimp & bacon or veggie), Gyoza, agedashi tofu, pork belly kimchi, and potato winter green croquette (I didn't like this very much visually and flavor wise). The potato salad is delicious. But the reason why you should come here is for their skewers: chicken thighs and spring onions, Kobe skirt, Kobe NY, shrimp, mushroom, and the best of all - chicken skin. They used to have king crab but not anymore. They have 2-3 desserts that seem to change. The ones I've tried are coffee jelly, and black sesame.

Deciding on whether to give four or five stars for Hatsumi is a challenge for me.

Man... I really wanted to like this place. I've been following this spot since before it opened. I saw that they were being trained by my favorite robata spot in OC. Well, this didn't hit that craving. We ordered the sashimi plate, fried chicken, a bunch of the skewers, a sake flight, and a sake bottle. The only thing that won here was the fried chicken. The skewers were incredibly underwhelming. The bacon on the skewers weren't really crispy. I mean not speak poorly but this really didn't hit the spot for me and I'm so bummed about it!! The sashimi was good but nothing exciting as well. The other thing I thought was odd, was that the skewers came out first.. then the fried chicken, then the sashimi, and the spinach salad... way backwards I would think. If you can change my mind I'm all for it, but for now this is not somewhere I'll be coming bac

Happy hour is really good here. I come here for a happy hour often. The menu is not overwhelming, I just wish they had more seafood options. Still happy hour $5 and a shot. I'm very happy . The waiters are extremely friendly. They even bring out a hot towel before your meal. It's crazy to believe that this place is only been open for a year. I shall return. Red

Very small but nice place. Background music is very loud. The food is fresh and nicely presented. Only 2 of us and we shared 5 dishes. We had been highly anticipating the meal and were mostly disappointed. Not the 'flavor explosion' we were hoping for.... even with the accompanying sauces.... and the Japanese chicken was overfried. A couple of the plates took 20 minutes. Will we go back? Probably not.

Good skewers that reminds me of the ones I had in Japan.

We were in this beautiful restaurant for the first time. I'm sure that if we are in Las Vegas again, we will definitely return. We tried a lot of dishes, because there were 6 of us. The appetizers were delicious and very tasty. The staff was very friendly and highly professional. We were so addicted to food that we forgot to take pictures

Unpopular opinion- It's a solid 3 star place. In terms of service, I would actually give 4.5 stars. We sat at the bar and Cornelius took care of us. However, when we walked in and said we didn't have reservations, we were gawked at. I know this place is popular, but it ain't no Dorsia... Ha. We had a couple drinks and they were good, but nothing spectacular. I did like the Japanese whiskey. Cornelius offered us suggestions on the menu, as we were first timers. The chicken liver was probably my favorite. And the shrimp was good, too. The skewers are.... Good. And more on the petite side. For the price point, I just wasn't blown away... *Shrugs*

Finally got a chance to try this place and was super excited until we sat down. Food was below average and the service was even lower. Sat there for about 10-15 min before water and there was maybe 3 other people lol. Anyway took another 15 min to order and was asked "what can I get you" in a disappointed tone. We ordered anyway and hoped to taste the food and with it being sooooo limited. We did try and with the prices definitely not worth it. So this would be the last time we come here and it's sad

The happy hour was great!! We didn't even know we went during happy hour until our waiter told us. Drinks and service were amazing. Highly suggest the sashimi platter and skewers!

expected good yakitori; however, this is more about being trendy and expensive than serving delicious food. The atmosphere is nice, but the food is not.
