I visited the Fire Island Lighthouse and asked one of the volunteers for a seafood restaurant recommendation for me and my German friend who is visiting.Got an enthusiastic tip to try B & B Fish and Clam and I am so glad I did!We started with the fried oysters. They were large, lightly breaded and succulent. The taste was a perfect balance of fresh oyster sweetness and briny saltiness, in a light fried bite that was still deliciously juicy.We also split the steamed seafood combo with mussels, clams, scallops, shrimp, and sweet corn. The broth was excellent and the seafood perfectly steamed.Definitely putting this on my Return Again list.

:-/ I was so excited to try this place! Especially because of the good ratings. But our food was extremely bland, my partner didn't eat the lobster roll AT ALL , which is one of his favorites usually everywhere else he's tried it. I had a piece and it was flavorless... The shrimp cocktail was okay, the cocktail sauce didn't have any kick to it like we're used to but it wasn't bad. The seafood broil- My mom and I ordered it, it was extremely bland as well! Ahh total disappointment. We saved it with salt/pepper but still I feel like it shouldn't have been necessary. My son had the coconut shrimp and they were slightly burnt, he barely ate them. & again flavorless. Not sure if we went on an off-day... but I doubt we'll ever be back. With so many other choices for seafood... Staff was nice though.

For starters, I like that the place was very clean and that the staff were attentive. Nice atmosphere and was seated fairly quickly. Not a big restaurant so I felt like the seating was a bit cramped. In terms of food, I would say it's just okay. The food was not seasoned and bland. My mother got a cup of New England chowder which she stated was pretty thick with mostly big chunks of potatoes. She said it was tasty. However, was too lumpy and had too many potatoes. For entrees My mother and I both go the salmon oreganata. It was disappointing as we did not taste any herbs or any seasoning to be honest. We asked for medium well and received more of a wet soggy salmon. They did bring the correct order but the dish itself was flavorless , the broccoli has no flavor what so ever and I think the potato was the best part. The crumbs were my least favorite part it was soggy and tasteless. A bit strange to be honest. In other words a bit disappointed after seeing so many good reviews. I wouldn't got back. I would recommend some other places like voodocrab.

Worst food ever. Their lobster bisque had no lobster just fake pressed crab tgat really fish (I think?) and it had rice as a filler ugh Food wasn't warm, smalll portions and not very good at all. Never went back.
