Holy cannoli, this restaurant is exceptional! If you live in Astoria I really don't know why you would eat anywhere else, I could go here every day. The carbonara, bolognese, and veal marsala are my favorites, but everything we had here has been just outstanding. Family run business with a cute space and great service. Love love love Ornella's.

The place was very clean. The place was very nice. The food is very good. The fried calamari was lightly breaded and have zero complaints with the food. However today when we sat down, we ate and were having a good time however when the check came we were advised that the credit card machine only works after 5pm and we had to pay in cash. So we were allowed to both leave to go to the ATM and get money from the deli on the nearest corner. Not sure if the machine actually works that way or if they were trying to pocket the money. Either way I'm giving a lower score just because of how ridiculous the response was. I've heard about credit card minimums, not a time gate on when I could use it.

This restaurant is the real deal. Being born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn I am pretty picky with my Italian food but this place did not disappoint. We were greeted by the son's of the owner, Pino & Angelo, and they were extremely nice. The cocktails were tasty and the pasta was very fresh. Definitely would recommend.

Ornella is the best Italian pasta locally and that I've had anywhere. We used to live around the corner and came here every Thursday night. We now live out of the city and still come here when we visit friends in Astoria.

This is review of takeout. Food was ok. Slightly better than corner pizza joint but not worth double the price. Food prep just didn't have anything special about it as expected.

I went with my friends past Saturday to celebrate my birthday. We needed a table for 15 and it was the only place in the area that gave me a quick answer and accommodated us without issues (most places wanted me to choose a fixed menu or ask my guest to get at least two dishes per person). The service was great, they helped me with everything I asked for. The food was served fast and everyone enjoyed it very much. An amazing place to have a delicious meal and to support the local businesses in Astoria. I can't wait to be back!

This establishment doesn’t deserve 5 stars when their service isn’t consistent. Your food being decent doesn’t earn 5 stars, the entire experience does. We understand the constraints the pandemic has had on businesses, however there was only 3 other tables with customers and they were all checked in with more than once before we were even asked for our order. Customer reviews are important so I urge you all to go through lower reviews. There’s a plethora of problems, from bad service to poor food safety (there’s even been reviews where patrons have been served regular pasta when asking for gluten-free. Are you not aware of what it means to have celiac??). The owners attitude is disgusting and every response I’ve seen him give to a review is negatively charged. He went as far as calling people who review on Yelp “imbeciles”. Take this as you please but I will not be returning to this establishment or referring people here any longer.

This restaurant had been on our list of places to visit in NY for a while. This was probably one of the most disappointing servicing experiences I've gotten in a while. They only had one person on the floor waiting tables, cleaning up, and managing takeout orders. The environment is also not welcoming; we were met with weird looks and also noticed that we were the only table who didn't receive bread as a starter. Food was alright but I'd rather invest in somewhere that cares more about their clientele. Wished I looked through Yelp reviews more thoroughly as well. The owner has a lot of rude responses Update: We are well aware of the conditions of the pandemic but that doesn't excuse the service we received. Other tables were checked in with more than once before we were even asked about our orders. We were gracious enough to wait patiently and didn't say anything while we were there. Keep in mind, you aren't the only restaurant going through a pandemic and I've still received better service other places who are working under the same circumstances of being under staffed. Another table also ordered a pasta and a sandwich and still got bread so I don't know why you feel the need to try and prove a point there. And FYI, I use Yelp very frequently and those other reviews is the fault of their service. None of them were rude and were honest reviews of the experience we had. It's pathetic that this is the response you give. We all see who the real imbecile is. P.S With 58k followers on Instagram you would at least expect that your likes are higher. Maybe stop buying fake likes and followers to make your page look more appealing. And looking at your other 1 star reviews, it looks like you've had a trend of taking too long to serve people for at least 4 years. I'm pretty sure we've only been in Covid for 2 LOL. Learn to save your breath instead of wasting it speaking to your customers the way you do.

Me and my Fiancée came in for Dinner last night and we were absolutely blown away. Service A+ Food A+ Ambiance À+ Do yourself a favor and get the stuffed pork chop over pasta.

I've seen this place on Instagram months ago and I've only now had the opportunity to visit. Let me say, it was a bit of a WILD RIDE. I came from Lincoln Center to give this place a try, so you can definitely say I've been looking forward to it. After a mobile order and a quick train ride, I was greeted by a polite and casual man who had my food ready for me as I arrived. Given that I arrived around the first few minutes of opening, I didn't experience much of what the in-store atmosphere is like but I'd be willing to make the extrapolation and claim that it's decent at the very least. I ordered, as I alluded to earlier, the WILD RIDE sandwich which has buttermilk fried chicken, pickles, a creamy dusse sauce, bacon, and mozzarella sticks in it. The sandwich on its own is $15, which I felt was a bit pricey but I got a 30% off discount since it was my first time ordering it on the app so the price wasn't much of a worry for me today. It's not like anything I've ever seen, so I can certainly give them points for creativity. However, the sandwich didn't entirely stand the test of presentation. It wasn't horribly sloppy, but I wouldn't present it to Gordon Ramsay with confidence. Given that I rode the train back with this sandwich, I can't really blame them fully but it's something to consider. As far as the taste goes, it's certainly a positive experience. One thing I admired especially was the authenticity of the ingredients. Someone behind the desk could tell me they farmed the mozzarella cheese themselves and I'd believe it for a second. The pickles also had some integrity in their taste, but the taste almost overpowered everything else in the sandwich. The bacon did the opposite: I didn't taste much of the bacon and it was a bit brittle. However, it contributed nicely to the texture of the sandwich and gave a bit of crunch to my bite. The chicken was fried a bit much and it felt like more breading than chicken, but the chicken itself was decent and it did what it had to do as the main attraction of the sandwich. The buns were soft, fluffy, and delicious; can't complain there. The sauce absolutely carried the sandwich in terms of overall texture both in the bite and on the bun as well as how nice the taste was and how it agreed with the other ingredients in the sandwich. Overall, it's not something I'd drop everything I'm doing for but I'd certainly recommend it if you're passing by.

I've had this restaurant bookmarked for months as I always see the foodie couple DEVOURPOWER eating here and posting incredibly drool worthy pictures. My husband and I were in the area for a family event, and brought his cousin here for a late night bite afterwards. I must admit, I am not one that typically chooses Italian cuisine. My go-to is always something Asian, meanwhile my husband loves Italian! So he was definitely shocked when I said lets come here! We dined here last Friday night, and were seated immediately. We started off with some wine and were served fresh bread with oil. I was so indecisive with the menu as everything sounded amazing. Our server was so helpful, and recommended the "Imbustata" which consisted of "Oven baked envelope shaped pasta filled with roasted veal, chicken, wild mushrooms, homemade mozzarella cheese, California spinach, mascarpone cheese and fresh tomato sauce". This particular pasta dish is completely home-made. My husband ordered spaghetti with meatballs because he's basic and his cousin had the Linguine Al Frutti Di Mare which came with mussels, shrimp, clams and calamari. When our food came out, I cant say there was much talking as we were really enjoying our meals! My dish was incredible! It was so flavorful and tasty that of-course my husband had to try some, and ended up finishing what I couldn't! Nothing was left on either of our plates. We all enjoyed it so much, and were already discussing when we would be coming back! The prices are extremely fair! I highly recommend this place and can't wait to return!

Omg this place is amazing. We order from here for work regularly. We usually all order what we want but everything is so good we end up sharing it all. The homemade pasta is unreal! The sandwiches are all amazing! You won't be disappointed!

this is the second time I have a problem with the retaaurant. the first time I waited an hour and a half for my food and the guy who answered the phone was super rude! Today I made an order. I ordered gluten-free ravioli, they sent me regular penne. They didn't bother calling me and asking. I called and the same guy answered me and told me he sent me penne because they don't have gluten free ravioli. Who is he to decide what I want to eat?Said I picked something they don't have. Well, if I chose it, it was because it's on the menu. (I placed the order on the restaurant's website)in short, the service is terrible!! I still don't know how this person still works at the restaurant.
