The owner was absolutely out of line, and verbally abusive - on the last Saturday we went there. He seemed to take pride in telling us that he fired the nice waitresses who we have had for years. We had been customers for almost ten years!Every other Saturday, my husband and I would go for lunch. It was a nice break to enjoy lunch and relax. If I didn’t want a cream sauce on a pasta, the waitress was extremely agreeable and would substitute a tomato sauce. No big monetary change - actually… tomato sauce is less expensive than cream sauce. We are seniors who never… ever.. did a thing but show up … and have a nice quiet meal. The owner, “Mike”, jacked up the price of this lunch, ( charged us $8.00 for a salad that comes with our normal lunch. And also the price of the pasta ) and never for-warned us.We could not go into the dining room because there were no waitresses to serve us.The room was dark. What happened with the waitresses .. that they never showed - we do not know.We ended up being told the only place we could sit - was at the few wooden tables where people would sit to eat pizza slices. Also… at one point - he really screamed at us.“Here! You take over the dining room and run this place!”We could not believe what we were hearing. It was actually scary. We do want to thank the lovely waitresses we have had through the years. But, this owner has to work on his anger issues.Sadly… We had to walk out, and did not eat there, and will never… ever… go back.

My wife and I have been loyal customers of Vinnie's Mullberry Street in Bay Shore for easily more than 7 years. We have recommended family & friends. This is basically a pizza place with a restaurant seating area on the side. The food has always been very good. The lunch menus were very reasonably priced. We remained loyal through COVID - and ordered take-out from there........although this location was 25 minutes from our home (no shortage of similar restaurants in our area) . The regular waitresses knew us and knew our usual food orders. The kitschy Italian music playing in the background was a nice touch. We would frequent this establishment at least once every 2 weeks - with an approximate payment of $38.00 per visit - for 2 lunch meals. On top of that - we would always leave a generous tip - and an especially generous tip for Christmas. Our yearly spend there was easily over $1,000 per year. On February 24 - my wife and I felt like taking a trip to Vinnies Mulberry Street. It was always our "Go To" place for a nice lunch and a nice time. On that day - we were told by Mike (the owner) that the restaurant area was closed - no waitress was available. We were told that we could order "'take-out" and sit in the pizza dining area........tables and chairs close to the front door entrance ........with the full force of cold weather and winds whenever someone entered. So.....OK.....we decided we'd do that. We placed our orders. My wife usually orders either Ravioli or Eggplant Parmesan. Ravioli is priced on lunch menu at $11.95 (with a side salad). My wife requested Angel Hair pasta instead of Ravioli. Mike angrily tells us that this is not available on the "lunch menu." Now, we've ordered many times FOR YEARS with minor substitutions from the printed "lunch menu." I check the receipt....and I see that he charged me a total of $16.00 for the Angel Hair & the salad - a difference of $4.05 from the lunch special price. I bring this to his attention. He tells me "that is not on the lunch special." Now, it doesn't take a genius to determine that the cost of ingredients for ravioli (with cheese) is higher than the cost of angel hair pasta (with only marinara). So, instead of making an "exception" for REGULAR CUSTOMERS - he persists in being arrogant & abusive. Mike then went on to proudly tell us that he fired our regular waitress. The lack of foresight here was UNBELIEVABLE! He lost REGULAR CUSTOMERS over a $4.05 difference in price. When I confronted him with this lack of logic - he actually asked me if I'd like to take over his Pizzeria. We ended up walking out, picked up our own ingredients, and prepared our meal at home. I realize employee salaries, rent, cost of ingredients, etc. I'm in the "food business" - so I'm not oblivious. It's a shame, though, that due to the pennywise/pound foolish attitude of Mike - that he has lost regular customers. We will never return to this establishment. A sad state of affairs - considering that many folks are being cautious about the cost of going out to eat.....not to mention the difficulty in hiring a good staff.

This is the place to go to get authentic Italian cuisine They are always friendly whether you're calling in over the phone to place an order or coming to dine in I'm always choosing between penne a la vodka with grilled chicken or fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. They have decor to match the food, they have booths and tables if you're looking for a casual sit down restaurant

Great food. We got baked ziti, and the pasta combo. Mozzarella sticks too. The bread with the oil and tiny pizza strips are a great start that they give you.

There was a time when Mulberry Street was the best Italian food in Babylon—that time is no more. My fiancé and I went out for dinner this evening and ordered pasta. I chose Alfredo and my fiancé chose garlic and oil. Sadly, my Alfredo was horrendous akin to salty, Alfredo soup. Our waitress was not inviting and we frankly did not feel comfortable raising the issue in person. But after paying $60 for pasta and my mouth puckering with salt for hours after eating, I felt I should call and let Mulberry Street know. After repeatedly asking for the owner, I finally spoke with him (Chris) and let him know the issue. He let me know that there’s no salt the Alfredo, so he didn’t see how it could have been salty. When I let him know the service was poor, he let me know the waitress had been there for many years and they he would give her the benefit of the doubt. So basically I can go kick rocks. No ownership. He offered a gift card (when he should have outright refunded me) but I made it clear that we didn’t want to return. It’s a shame this place has gone downhill. The service is poor, the vibe is snarky, the food is a shell of what it was, and when I said as much, it was made clear that it didn’t matter, or they didn’t believe me. Not a great way to treat a customer of over twenty years. Sad to say that I won’t be back.

Way too much oil on the pizza. It takes away from the experience and the good taste. I feel like I’ll have a heart attack after eating.
