This is a great cafe -- great coffee, great pastries, nice place to hang out Post-COVID. AND you really have to try their take out only, pre order only, Ethiopian dinner. We ordered the Family portion. We got injera (the spongy bread people use to eat the various dishes), shiro wat ( a lovely yellow split pea stew), green beans, another delicious slightly hot dish I can't remember the name of, and some delicious dark greens. We enjoyed it very much and will certainly order again.

When I need a nice quiet spot to just sit and relax, this has been the place to go. The ambiance is also amazing. VERY delicious! And workers were very kind and friendly. I continue to highly recommend this place!

Love the coffee, pastries, and the community involvement! I've never been to their other locations in Upper Manhattan but I've been to the Riverdale café a couple times and it's got a super chill neighborhood vibe. The coffee is good, the pastries are excellent, and I really like the fact that the owners have used their cafés and neighborhood connections to promote civic engagement and advocacy.
