We entered AlMar on a Monday evening during dinner hour and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were promptly seated by the host, yet 10 minutes no one took so much as a drink order. We left the restaurant as a result. Very snobby attitude shown by staff.

They look for customer comfort apart from having very good food and excellent service.More than recommended!!

I'm lucky to have Almar in my Dumbo neighborhood. Last night I had the Roasted Spanish Mackerel with Grape Tomato, Olives & Sauteed Spinach. It could not have been more perfect. Just perfectly prepared, mediterranean style. It was a large enough portion that I just had my leftovers for lunch. As good as the night before. I highly recommend a squeeze or two of fresh lemon over the entire dish. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I'll let it do the rest of the talking... my friend had the fava bean puree which was a hearty and delicious dish as well, accompanied my an assortment of sauteed greens.

Always the best. Everything is always cooked perfectly and love the service. Good for dates, family, friends. You name it. They also play old Italian movies on the back wall. Gives the place a cool vibe.

Hands-down the best restaurant in Dumbo. A very relaxed Italian spot filled with neighborhood locals that make you feel at home. Includes a great cocktail and wine menu crafted with much thought. Great for dinner, but don't sleep on their sneaky good lunch and brunch options. Their weekly rotating menu of specials paired with their seasonal standards/favorites ensures you'll always find a great new dish to try.

Nice, nothing more, expensive for what it is. 78 dollars for 3 to eat something decent. Nice interior.
The food was good but not as well as an Italian food.

We had a small celebratory work dinner here. Staff was so hospitable, the atmosphere was festive and cozy, and the food was amazing. Dishes were served family-style and there was plenty of food for everyone. They did such a nice job “personalizing” our event and even had our logo printed on the menus, such a nice touch! Al Mar is equally suitable for a casual dinner or a special celebration. It got quite crowded for a weekday, and you can tell this charming place is a neighborhood staple.Dietary restrictions: Good veggie options, the kitchen is very accommodating as we had 2 person in our party with a limited diet.

Great restaurant with an incredible atmosphere. The food was tasty and their specials were great! Our server, Chris, was on point and highly attentive to details. What appeared to be the owner/manager was friendly and a team player. I had the pleasure of dinning right after the Thanksgiving break, it was nice to see staff consistently greet and have small talk with what appeared to be repeat costumers. Also, It's a Wonderful Life was playing on the projector, peak holiday atmosphere. 10/10 experience and I will be dinning here again. Thank you staff @ Almar.
