Melt Bakery

This place is always closed. Their hours aren't updated. There is still a sign that says see you in April. It's the end of May. I love and miss these sandwich ice creams so much. I'm depressed!

I've been meaning to try Melt for a while but was a little skeptic based on their previous reviews- would hate for the cookie part of the ice cream sandwich to be hardened/frozen. Fortunately it was far from that. It obviously wasn't a warm gooey chocolate chip cookie but it didn't have to be- it was at the right temperature to enjoy with the ice cream. Tried this at the cart on the highline. Have to say that as a New Yorker who has tried many of the ice cream spots around NYC, including some of the premium ice cream trucks, this was not impressive. I purchased the snickerdoodle (which i didn’t get for myself) and the chocolate chip/walnut (which this is review is for). The chocolate chip cookie didn’t taste like anything. How does that happen?
