Sandbar is reminiscent of so many beautiful seaside venues. The interior design does match the restaurant's namesake and it was pleasant to the eye. Even the bar area looked inviting. I could see myself stopping by to watch a game.As for the food, my friend and I shared the mussels to start. Go ahead and dip some bread into the sauce of the dish. It'll change your life. We had the chickpea fries as well but I wasn't a fan of those. Our main dishes included the Pappardelle Bolognese and the Branzino. Both seemed expertly crafted. I have no complaints there. They seem to have a solid wine collection so don't worry about finding the right libation to add to your dinner. There were some slight service glitches and some of the staff seemed less than warm, but that could've been a fluke or my perception. Don't let that deter you. I would come back for sure!

Was in here last weekend for a birthday brunch and the food and service were awful.1) We sat down and the two waiters were going back and forth on who gets our table (unlucky for us, we got the worse one)2) The waiter failed to tell us a bunch of things on the menu were out of stock before we ordered them. We got there shortly after opening so being out of things on a small brunch menu is a tough look and not notifying people ahead of time is worse3) Every single person that ordered had something wrong with their meal. (I.e asking for ham to be added to the omelette and instead getting ham on the side; ordering a steak and egg burrito and first them thinking we ordered steak and eggs and then next they brought out egg tacos before finally understanding we ordered steak and egg burritos - these are on the menu)3) It took a ridiculous amount of time for the food to come out and when it did come out it was basically inedible. The omelettes were overcooked and had this weird burnt film on it, the burritos weren’t seasoned at all, and everything else was just unappetizing4) After all of the issues, with none of us finishing our meals, literally nothing was comp’d. Makes it seem like this is a regular experience.I don’t know if this was just a bad day for the staff or what was happening but it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. It’s disappointing because the vibe of this place is so cool and has so much potential but the food and service just did not match the vibe at all

One of our favorite restaurants and it never disappoints. We had a charcuterie board as an appetizer. Nice choices of meats and cheeses and more than enough for 2. Our entrees were a steak sandwich and mahi mahi tacos and both were terrific. I am sure we will be back again soon

I have been wanting to try this place and I'm So happy I did! The service was impeccable first off! Started with the salad with the warm goat cheese. Had cacio e Pepe and the fish tacos! The dessert was the warm cookie with the milkshake. Shared all this stuff and left happy and full! Great spot

Service was amazing! Food was delicious. Celebrated my anniversary with my wife and it was all we were asking for. Manager James was very welcoming and Edwin the server was very attentive.

It was basically a nice experience but they don't pay attention to the details in your reservation. I specifically mentioned it was a birthday celebration and nothing was mentioned the entire evening. Most places will give you a complimentary small token dessert to commemorate the occasion but nothing was ever said. Other than that it was okay.Service was friendly and fast. They let us have time to decide on what we wanted and the courses were brought out very spaced out. First we ordered two drinks. I got the figgy old fashioned which was really good and my girlfriend got a special martini. Sorry I forgot the name. They brought out the drinks which were very well made. For an appetizer we ordered half dozen raw clams on a half shell and the avocado toast with burrata. Both were excellent. The avocado toast is very tasty but pricey for what you got. $20. The raw clams on the half shell were extremely fresh and pleasantly presented with fresh shaved horseradish cocktail sauce lemon and a wine vinaigrette, that was $15. They brought us out bread before the mea;l one slice each and never asked if we wanted more. The butter for the bread was frozen solid and we needed a jackhammer to separate it and we had to wait quite some time to spread it on the bread.Main course, my girlfriend ordered the Berkshire pork chop which was excellent and cooked perfectly. I ordered the filet mignon kabobs over orzo. I really don't think it was filet mignon because not only did it not taste like filet mignon but it was tough and grizzly. Quite disappointing. We didn't order dessert because frankly we didn't want anymore. The bill came to $230 with tip. Overall not worth it. We chose this place because there was an article on the internet that name it one of the top 10 romantic restaurants on Long Island. The Ambiance was nice but it really wasn't that romantic. Won't be going back.Parking: There's a parking lot a block away on the other side of the street and street parking in front of the restaurant.

Wonderful Sunday brunch at The Sandbar. My wife and I had a reunion with another couple and we were not rushed but plenty of given time to chat and reminisce. Food and drinks and dessert were the best. Friendly wait staff made it a perfect event. !

We have been to Sandbar many times, and as always we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner/apps/cocktails. My husband enjoyed the lamb chops that were a special that evening, and I had the branzino, both delicious. Sandbar salads, and chickpea fries, and wagyu pigs in blankets were all wonderful! We look forward to returning in the near future.

Service was terrible. We waited about 15 minutes for waiter to come and take our drink orders and at least 20 minutes for them to arrive. We were a table of six and he forgot one of our dinner orders so five of us were served while the sixth person had to wait. My dinner was almost inedible with soupy risotto, soggy kale and a bone in the fish. It took so long for our dessert order to arrive that one of the chef's came out to apologize and gave us a courtesy dessert while we waited. The noise level was deafening. The Host was harried and bordered on rude. Just an awful experience. I will never go there again nor recommend it.

Went out to dinner here for a family members birthday, food was good. The problem was that my aunt and I, who both had the Turkey Burger, ended up getting sick that night. Not sure what happened but definitely won't be heading back anytime soon.

I really enjoyed the food (except chickpea fries- what was that?) and my cocktail. However, the staff didn’t acknowledge the fact that my date had a birthday today and didn’t do anything to make this experience special. I just got home from dinner and thought to myself, ‘Wow, there wasn’t even a candle.’ Kinda disappointing.”

Arrived at 12:30 - told its restaurant week. We were seated, food arrived at 2:10. Everyone who was seated after was served before us. The food was sub par. Bacon was deep fried and disgusting. Manager made excuses, “well it’s restaurant week”No, sorry that’s not an excuse, especially since the restaurant was never at capacity!! Manager made excuses instead of accepting responsibility, and she had attitude!!Manager said bacon was baked not fried, then why was it in a ball??? Baked bacon is flat! Never again!!!
