This is the best greek food in the area, always fresh and delicious, when we dine in the service is also great!

Hi Greek village has been in the area for many years. The food is excellent, I tried a burger can't believe how good it was. I had the burger to go and the counter person Veronica was very helpful and pleasant. She made the whole experience even better.

I recently came back to Long Island for a visit. I wanted to go back to Greek Village which I have to eating at for over 30 years. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food this time. I know there has been changes in ownership and the food is no longer as good as I remember. That's really a shame since this was one of my go to places for such a long time. I ordered the combination of Mousaka, Pastitsio and Spinach Pie. The quality of all three were sub-standard compared to past experiences. I really hope they get their act together and bring it back to what it was.

Rarely leave reviews on food places but this was just a horrible experience from a place I remember being very reliable. We called in an order, whoever was working the phone was abrasive, misheard the name for the order and then when we tried to correct it, we got snippy reply back, now if I was there in person, I would have canceled the order and left. Now we pick up the food, come home. The clams were burned on the top. The soup, the barley was barely cooked and still had bite. The potatoes on the entree didn’t seem fresh, like they were made yesterday. And the burger I ordered was not cooked to the correct temperature. I’m not sure if this was a frozen patty but from the presentation and the way it made me sick immediately, I believe it was. They only refunded the burger even though the entire meal was pretty trash. My father had a half a clam, the burn on them overpowered everything. The soup wasn’t enjoyable. The burger and chicken/potatoes were tossed after a few bites because it just wasn’t fresh.I remember this place being top notch, I wish I knew when it changed.

THE WORST “GREEK” FOOD IVE EVER HAD!!I’ve tried this place a number of times. I have to say each time I try the food here, my experience progressively worse. My order is NEVER correct. Being a person who eats nothing but Mediterranean food, this is by far the worst I’ve ever had. Hard to call this place greek, far from Greek actually. I advise anyone who even considers this place, save your money and appetite and take your business elsewhere. The best thing about this place is the pita bread, and even that was stale (every time).

We have been coming to the Greek Village for over 30 years. There have been several changes of ownership, but we're happy to report after having dinner there on Friday that all is still well and good. The free appetizer of kidney beans and chick peas soaked in Milton's (original owner)Greek dressing and served with a generous portion of pita bread has long been a family favorite. No one can beat the greek salad which, to my wife's gratitude, still includes a couple of grape leaves. I got the delicious felafel platter which has miraculously come "down" in price and we finished the meal off with galltaburico and coffee. Our waitress, Mona, was outstanding, taking care of us as if we were family. Which sums up the Greek Village for us-it is our "go to" "chill" neighborhood family restaurant that remains a dependable pleasure after all these years.

I’ve passed this place more times to count and never walked in. I finally came inside and my god...the experience was heavenly. I ordered a spinach pide as an appetizer and knew after trying it that this place would be special. I then proceeded to have a gyro. It was exhilarating. As I poured the tzatziki sauce all over it (AKA liquid gold) each bite became more savory. The service was great too. Overall, this place was excellent and worth coming back to. As a matter of fact, I think I’ll drive on over now and have myself another gyro. P.S it’s way better than the Athenian Taverna across the street. I found a new spot for my Tuesday night adventures.

I used to frequent this establishment years ago when you had to wait in line for a table. While in the area recently, we decided to see if they made it through the pandemic. We were pleasantly surprised to see that they did. We looked at the menu online and called in an order. The woman on the phone didn't sound like she wanted to be there at all. I somewhat recall her being there years ago as well. She wasn't rude, just a little standoffish when we asked questions. I tend to overlook things like this during these uncertain times, but a little kindness goes a long way. The restaurant is in a huge strip mall of stores with Michael's and Petco. No line waiting to get in. In fact, the restaurant was empty. I had to ask if they were doing in house dining yet. She said yes but that it was slow. The owner was sitting at the bar alone, eating. It was kind of sad to see. Sign of the times I guess... He got up and asked us if we were picking up. I said yes but we needed some greek cookies. They are in a case right when you walk in. He gladly packaged some up for us and threw in extra for my child. He was very nice to us. The phone lady was trying to teach another woman how to ring people up. They were preoccupied and not paying attention to our bag of food on the counter. I interjected and we were rung up. She told us to check our order before leaving, which we did. It was all correct. A chicken gyro platter with rice pilaf and string beans. The chicken gyro was tasty. The rice was good. But the string beans were mushy. I appreciate that they were not from a can, but they were definitely not fresh. The avgolemono soup is exactly how I remember it. I ordered a quart of it and am so glad I did. Fresh, hot and lemony with orzo, chicken, carrots, and some onion. I would drive there just for that. An appetizer of Boureki. Also how I remembered it. Very good. A side order of roasted potatoes. Plentiful and fresh. And the usual pita and tzatziki. Also good. The kourabiedes (greek cookies) were very sweet but yummy. They are covered in powdered sugar. Thank you for the extra! I'm told the baklava was also good. I really hope they stay in business. I will definitely be going back for more take out to support this small business.

Love all of their dishes! Delicious gyros and chicken dishes. Great service from server Mona. She is kind and very knowledgeable about the menu. We have also gotten takeout and veronica always takes our order with kindness and enthusiasm.

I don’t like to post negative reviews but this is soo unacceptable.I wanted to get something fast, I ordered a soup and a salad which I paid $17.05 with a gift card. It took 15 minutes to prepare the order but when I saw the counter worker was preparing the salad with no gloves I canceled the order. The cashier didn’t knew how to issue credit on my credit card and I been told the next day I will see the credit back on my card.It did not happened, I called three times talked to Veronica which assured me the credit will appear on my credit card.It did not happened and no one called me back. For me, Greek Village stole $17.05 and lie.

We went to Greek Village today at 3pm In Commack. The restaurant was empty which was understandable, since it was between lunch and dinner. My wife wanted to use the restroom before sitting to have lunch. We were told the ladies room is out of order use the men's room. When she went to the men's room and discovered it was filthy dirty like it wasn't cleaned in days. I went to use it as well and it was a mess, In addition the sink was cracked and the paper towel dispenser was broken. When we told the waitress Tina about it, she said, yes I know that's why I told you to use the men's room. The Women's restroom is worse. I quote her "if you want you can go next door to Micheal's use their facilities. We were shocked at her answer and stood up to leave. When she questioned why we we're leaving we told her we didn't like her answer, and it would have been more acceptable if she apologized and maybe offer to clean it. She didn't like it and burst osut aying "me? Clean it. Never!" I told her the owner of this restaurant would not appreciate her answer and she said " go ahead tell him. He knows, it's not the first time people complained about it. " So we walked out and ended up next door at Toramina, where the restroom were sparkly clean and the food delicious. I don't think we will ever again go to Greek Village. It's a shame bc we liked the food there.

The Subway of gyro spots. Hard pass. Should have grabbed from Plainview before coming to Commack.

My experience at Greek village was not good. The food took forever - a little over 45 minutes after we ordered. The waitress didn’t even provide pita bread while we waited. After we complained, the food came out expeditiously. The presentation was poor. It looked like they slapped all our appetizers into dessert plates. That’s when we noticed that we were missing the grape leaves that came with our order. We asked the waitress and she said the grape leaves did come with our appetizer, then she asked if “we wanted the grape leaves or not.” Well... if I ordered it, and it comes with my appetizer, what makes you think I don’t want it?In the end, we decided it was the worst choice we made. We won’t be stopping by Greek Village again, which is sad because we have been ordering food from there to our office for many years.
