Very nicely decorated, great ambiance, great selection of music, service was second to none, and the food was excellent. Ordered shrimp shumai, steamed vegetables with dipping sauce, unagi don, sushi combo 2, and green tea/tempura ice cream.Good portions, reasonable pricing, fresh, and incredibly satisfying, will definitely be back again!

This is the best sushi in long island / queens and I have yet to find one that beats it ! My colleague recommended this place and has ruined sushi for me because I've become so picky when trying other places . The sushi here is so fresh and the quality is outstanding ! My favorite go to dishes are the pearl maki roll, the wagyu uni roll , the spicy scallop hand roll , the spicy yellowtail hand roll , the Chu and otoro nigiri, and the seared salmon belly nigiri . I definitely need other recommendations to try . This place is always packed ! Sometimes the wait can be two hours plus so I usually opt for take out .

Torigo has excellent quality sushi. It is always consistent. Everything is delicious. Their only problem is that they accept way more orders then they can handle. They tell you your food will be ready in 30 minutes, you better be ready to wait over an hour. It is the same if you are waiting for a table. The restaurant is nice but cramped. There are always many people waiting for tables or pickup, making it feel even more crowded. Can't argue with the quality of the food but the service and their ability to bring you your food in a reasonable time drops the rating from 5 stars down to 4.

Lunch time here is a quiet time for great food. Miso soup is a nice starter after a cold walk. The lunch Bento Box (mine was Chicken Teriyaki this time, but all of them are solid choices) is a lot of food, all very fresh and delicious. The service is attentive and pleasant.

We called for a special to go sushi tray for my wife's birthday. Since my wife and daughter are salmon lovers, they made a tray with all salmon pieces and special salmon rolls. Even though it was a special request, they had it ready within a half hour during the busy holiday season. Everything was packed perfectly and they included plenty of soy sauce and wasabi which I usually use liberally.

Nice local spot for sushi. The fish is fresh. They have pretty good combo sushi special which is reasonably priced. We also ordered ala cart sashimi. They have a special if you order 5 pieces you get the 6th free. We ordered some Chu-toro and king salmon. Everything was delicious.

This plates isn't cheap, but I highly recommend it. We got lunch for our office here and everybody was really excited about their food. Everything from rolls to sashimi and sushi to cooked food. It was all delicious. I got the sushi and sashimi lunch special which was amazing. honestly, 25 bucks for that is a lot of money, but it was One of the best sashimi assortments I've had in a long time. Highly recommend!

2023.12 ordered to go lunch Katsu don. Well sauce is ok. Katsu not juicy , actually not tender and a bit dry. possible is to go. Too much rice and taste a little weird. For the service. We were being asked how many people twice in 1 min even we mentioned pickup?

The food quality at this restaurant is really exceptional. They dont skimp on the amount of fish to rice ratio for the nigiri and the pieces were delicious. The salmon belly was my favorite. There were some interesting specials such as the sweet shrimp with fried heads, ankimo, and whole mackerel. This place would have been 5 stars if it werent for the service. It was insanely slow. We made a 5:30 reservation and did not leave until 8pm. Each course came at such a slow speed. It seems like the waitress was really busy and it also looked like they were really short staffed during prime dinner hours. There was a point where we waited about 40 minutes for even the first appetizer to come out.

I've been here twice and the sushi is as fresh as I'll ever have next to omakase. I dream about the sushi here sometimes. The service is good, but it's evident that they are short staffed. My second time here, I was at the restaurant for over 3 hours because the sushi chefs were swamped and there was minimal wait staff. I got my hot food immediately because "the kitchen is just sitting around" (words of the waiter, not mine) but waited over 1.5 hours for my sushi platter for 2 which has about 25 pieces or so. It's not the staff's fault they are understaffed but it does take a toll on the guests. Aside from that, the restaurant itself is small, but clean and quaint. There's a small shared parking lot in the back which is almost always full but residential parking is not too far and there's always the meter spots on jericho. I'd come back for special occasions and maybe try to go at an odd hour. P.S. - they do not accept reservations for prime dinner time on Fridays or Saturdays due to how busy they get... my wait time on a Friday night was about 30 minutes before I was seated. This does not include the 3 hours I was physically sitting inside the restaurant. If you know you get that busy, I would think it would be wise to hire more staff for those hours.
