The wife and I were there month ago while scouting for homes in New York. Looked attractive on outside and we love Greek food, and we were starving. What a great choice!!!From the beginning, we were treated very graciously by the manager from Queens, Amanda (If my wife's memory is correct). She helped with some of our choices and her recommendations were right on! For apps, we had homemade pita chips, fried calamari and falafel. All were cooked just perfect with excellent flavor! We were already getting full. Entrees we chose were mousaka and boneless angus ribeye, with lemon potatoes. Again, cooked to perfection with bursting flavor!! Very generous portions too.It was a bit quiet because of the time of day we were there, so we were able to converse further with Amanda. She wished us the best on the house hunt, and then generously served us dessert and coffee on the house. The dessert was galaktoboureko, which we'd never had before. It was out of this world!!! We assured Amanda that she had won us over with her hospitality and the amazing food! It will absolutely be our top go-to restaurant when we move in March

The best gyro I've had in a long time

We’ve eaten at this restaurant twice. The gyros are fresh and made with quality meats. The service is friendly and professional: the Greek salad is amazing (see photo) with fresh chunks of feta cheese. It is definitely a place to try if you like Greek food.

Great octopus, salmon, and gyro. I think the attached pictures can speak for themselves- this restaurant is one of those hidden gems, and as only the 100th reviewer of this restaurant for google maps, I say with confidence that you won't be disappointed by the food that is offered here. Excellent service, HUGE portions, and of course, amazing food.Highly recommended!

Amazing authentic food and service! The appetizer platters were huge! I couldn’t believe the amount of food they pile up on the plate! I loved the zucchini fries, lamb and jalapeño! They gave us about 4 different sauces that were so full of flavor! The chef even sent out a special hot sauce that was sooo good on the saffron rice! I ordered the mousaka! Best I ever had! It came with a side of Greek salad... mmm mmm mm! They even have an olive spread to put on the bread that’s complimentary! The dessert was awesome also! We ordered the baklava, that was warm and served with ice cream. The nuts were caramelized, and the filo dough was crispy and flaky with just the right amount of honey and cinnamon. And the galakto boureko was like a light and fluffy bread pudding, it was my first time... and I can’t wait to have it again! If you like authentic Greek this place is a must try!!!

I doubt this spot a bit before coming then things changed. Best wait staff ever in my opinion, they are so welcoming when a confused looking customer entered.I want to say their portion is huge matching an awesome price. I Love the trio greek dip and the two page menu. That just gave me more reasons to come back again next week and bring some friends. With the area saturated with Mexican, Italian, Pizza and Chinese food, I am so happy with this addition. Greek food is healthy with plenty of vegetable. This place has some of the best Greek food around because it's the ONLY one. The outdoor seating is what attracted us to dine here on a beautiful day. Even being right between a busy road, we had our meal in peace and had a great time. Especially Angelo made us feel at home and super nice. Even offer to pay for our meal if we didn't like it which is impossible.if you don't know what to order, I would suggest go for their 2 to 3 people meal or 3 to 5 portion. It's a lot of food be warned.Btw their alcohol license is coming soon in a few week as I learned.

We came on a Saturday night and I was always wanting to try this place out during the pandemic. We were a large group of 10 and the restaurant accommodated us so well! It was a bit of a wait with the food as expected- we are a large group on a busy night. I loved the grilled octopus and their pita bread is immaculate? They even gave us free dessert ?

Everyone was super happy with their meals! I got the gyro platter. Meat was seasoned well, fries were perfectly crispy, and I took home plenty for lunch the next day. Staff was friendly and funny. Inside was beautifully decorated and clean. Bread for the table wasn't anything special and make sure you ask for extra tzatziki. Don't expect to get your drink on at the Gyro Bar, they don't have their liquor license yet. Check out this new spot before everyone else finds it!

The food was very good here but the star in my opinion was the service. We had multiple people checking and asking on our experience and if we needed anything else. Then I was blown away by the very generous military discount that was offered. I am used to receiving a 10% discount if a place honors a discount maybe 15% at some. I received the bill and couldn't believe I saw a 25% discount and was told that this was offered to military, police and fire department. I will certainly recommend this little place and will also be returning. Thanks!!!

My husband and I happened to be across the street at the car shop and needed to waste some time. We stopped at The Gyro Bar for a late lunch and the food was delicious. The best part of our dining experience was the service. The staff was so very kind and accommodating. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be back.
