My sister and I came in at 5:15 today. We were seated and waited for a server no one came to our table. 6 ppl were standing behind the bar talking. So I went up and said do I need to place my drink and food order here? Server said do u need a waitress? Yes I said we have had no one come to my table with the restaurant almost empty. No one still came so we left. Will never be back. Too busy decorating for Christmas to wait on us!!
I've eaten here a half dozen times the past couple months. I've gotten pizza, chicken parm, veil saltimbocca, and the chicken saltimbocca. Pizza and chicken parm is mediocre. Both saltimbocca dishes are terrible, dry, sauceless. Gnocchi overcooked each time. Sliced deli half folded on top with a slice of store bought cheese on a deep fried chicken breast...that is NOT how saltimbocca is made. Where's the white wine/butter sauce?? The atmosphere is great and the service is barely average. I dont know what happend to this place the past couple of years but it's food has declined dramatically.

Let me preface this review by saying it will almost seem unbelievable because it is considered a “reputable” restaurant in Horseheads. Last week, my family made reservations for 10 at 5:30 on Tuesday for my niece’s birthday dinner. We all got there and our drink orders were taken. The non-alcoholic drinks came fairly quickly. Our bar drinks took exceptional long bc apparently there wasn’t a bartender working (it was apparent bc my margarita came in a highball glass and tasted like just the sour mix). I’m not sure who was making the drinks but they did finally come. Eventually our food orders were taken and we figured it would take a bit considering there were 10 of us. However, when a party of 4 was seated next to us about 30 min after we sat down and got their meal, it became apparent this would be that awkwardly long wait. The server would come back every now and then to assure us our food was coming. (Mind you, I drove an hour w a 7 year old to celebrate). Just before 7, my mom got up from the table and found another waitress to ask her to go back and check on our meal. By that time, my son was a mess and our waitress came and asked if we just wanted it boxed up to go. We said if it was coming in the next few minutes, we’d wait. By 7:15 we had our meals in front of us (remember we got there at 5:30 w a reservation) Most of the meals were cold but we could at least eat before we had to drive back an hour. We boxed up our leftover food and took some cake that my sister in law brought to celebrate to go. Our total for ten of us came to about 420 dollars and on top of that included the tip since it was a larger table. Now here’s where it gets crazy. My brother, who has frequented this place, decided to drive back when it opened on Wednesday to just talk to the owner about our experience. When he got there the bartender said the owner was not there but that she’d have him call. A few hours later, my brother got a call, not from the owner (I hope), that said if he wanted to “pull up out front of the restaurant, they could settle this like real men.” My brother was shocked that this was the response and obviously did not take him up on his offer. My recommendation: stay away from this place, especially if you dare say anything is wrong, you might find yourself “settling things up with Louie in the back parking lot,” whatever that means. Next time I’m in town, we will go to hibachi across the street.

Long time customer with always a great experience. They seem to be always adding more rooms to make the atmosphere feel better and personal. Garlic knots, greens and beans, spicy shrimp appetizers are superb every time.

We got the new girl, again. We’ve been here six times this week. We understand she doesn’t always know what she’s doing yet and needs time to learn. However, today I called ahead to make sure they were going to have a burger on the lunch menu and they said they would so we came for lunch
She didn’t know what it came with she didn’t know what was on it so we said as long as there’s no mayonnaise that’s fine. We got a burger and some kind of a maybe a sourdough bread. No just bread. She should’ve told us that. On the bill, it was written up as a bacon Swiss burger. We didn’t know it came with Swiss cheese. She did not tell us that we would’ve chosen. We would’ve taken bacon also. But we did not know. We were charged for a bacon cheeseburger, which in most establishments are more expensive, but she insisted that it was the same price.
While discussing it some tall, dark haired guy in the kitchen made a snide comment that we could’ve gone to Burger King. He didn’t know I could hear him. Very unprofessional. When I brought it up to someone at the counter, who seemed like they worked there. He said he didn’t say anything. I said no you didn’t but someone in the kitchen did. And we don’t have to come here for lunch, but we chose to. And my friend said well we won’t be coming back.

Went here to meet up with old friends. Waitress was awesome and did great. Things turned EXTREMELY uncomfortable when we had pizzas on our table eating, and another patron came in and proceeded to lift her dress and moon our table and proceed to talk about how one of our members looked like “a movie star.” Uncomfortable, so immediately asked for the check. The owner (or who someone told me was the owner, I am not sure), proceeded to in a sarcastic tone say “something wrong with your order?” Mind you this is not a cheap place, so I thought. Waitress great though.

The food is some of the best in the area. The atmosphere is maybe a bit sterile, and each time I've eaten at Louie's the temperature has been in freezing to the point I wish I had brought a jacket in July.
