First off, I always try to support local business. That being said, I could never recommend Junda's. My wife went in there over the New Years weekend to get an apple strudel. When she came out and I asked her how much it was, she told me $30! And that was for the half size strudel. $30 for apple, cinnamon and dough? I was ready to go back in there to demand my money back, but my kind hearted wife talked me out of it. What a ripoff! Just because these places are out east, they ask outrageous prices for sub-par goods. And there are NO prices posted any where. Do yourself a favor, save your money and find another bakery

Tried to get a cake ordered for a week and was constantly told to call back to speak to owner who never returned a call as the regular staff apparently couldn't take an order for a custom cake on their own. Then got lectured by the owner on calling in advance if i want a special order. Called Blue Duck Bakery and got the cake i wanted in one phone call with no attitude.

Have not tasted it yet so I dont know the quality of the cake or frosting. I do know that it is gorgeous and a work of art to be admired. My stars are based upon how it looks. Update: Omg..this cake was amazing. Delicious. White cake with a pudding center. Just out of this world yummy. Good job guys!!

Excellent bakery. Personal service in a charming historic house. Items you may not find anywhere else and the strudel is magnificent .

We were visiting North Fork for a few days and stopped by here. The owner was very friendly and chatty. He let me enter the bakery with my dog. I bought some dog treats and the owner let me have another one on the house!I bought a blueberry lemon pie and it was delicious. Like others said, it was on the expensive side but I felt everything on our trip, from lunch/dinner to tastings at the wineries, was expansive. My two items, 6 inch pie and treats for my dog, cost me $27. I wish prices were posted and ingredients on the baked goods were listed where possible.

This review is long overdue. We've been going to Junda's for many many years. Always service with a smile and patient while you take 2 hours to decide just what to get (when you want it all). My favorites are the blueberry crumb cake, jelly donut, mini babkas are gone in seconds at my house. They make special items during specific seasons which I love. Call ahead if you need special items, like cupcakes, as they bake a limited amount of goodies. Their pies are fab. What more can I say? The only thing I hate about this place is that it all has calories!! I mean, wth? My thighs are living proof. Anyway, great goods, great staff (owner is especially top notch) and quaint little place. :)

I normally wouldn't write a bad review but I felt compelled to write this one. I recently purchased a very pricey apple strudel which I used to really enjoy but this was dry, lacked a proper amount of fruit and was tasteless. I am annoyed that the baker/owner would sell what seemed to be a "stale" item. I was suspicious when it was COATED in powdered sugar--I guess it was to cover up the apparent lack of freshness. I am sad to say that Junda's has really gone downhill--even the outside appearance is unsightly. I hope the baker/owner will accept these criticisms and adjust.

1st. the owner is fantastic, patient and will describe his tasty creations if needed. The treats are just scrumptious! I don’t know what to say. Everything purchased was fresh, tasty and made my night and day. This place is a gem , Enjoy it as it’s a g8 way to start and/or end your day !

This is THE place to go if you want high-quality pastries that are amazingly delicious. The cherry turnover and apple strudel are to die for. We chatted with the owner and baker, who was the former head pastry chef at the Garden City Hotel.Warning: Be prepared to ditch the diet!

What a disappointment. Went there yesterday to purchase Babka Bread for Easter. Paid way too much for the bread and found the bread to be awful. When we cut into it the bread was very dry and stale and had no flavor. I feed it to the birds. What a waste of $50.I should have shopped closer to home. Found out later there were other places that had the same thing for less money and the bread was delicious. Never again.

Just paid $5.60 for a pastry that was so stale, I took a bite, spit it out and threw the whole thing out. I’ll never go back.

Excellent "old school" bakery! I live for baked goods and this place hits the spot for me. Not fancy-schmancy, excellent and great variety. Sorry, I didnt know about this place sooner.
