Gray cocktails, outdoor seating, and the service was impeccable!

We saw that Crown was open Saturday morning as we were leaving the Kingston Farmers Market. We stopped by and enjoyed talking to the staff/owners. We walked away with bar snacks, napkins and cocktails! The drinks were super tasty and were perfect with the snacks. It was wonderful to enjoy Crown cocktails.

The drinks were unbearable and nasty

Have tried this place multiple times now. I really wanted to like it. Loved the decor, and the whole ambiance. But the service was TERRIBLE. I'm not even someone who needs attentive service in a bar/lounge setting, but in four visits here I have NEVER been offered a second drink. I have had to specifically flag someone down, even when seated at the (very small) bar, directly in front of the bartenders, with nobody else in the place. The bar staff acts as if just pouring a glass of wine is a supreme annoyance to them. Might give it another shot down the line, but for now I do not recommend.

This place is really great. Located in a historic old building, Crown Lounge reminds me of the kind of dark secretive bar you'd read about in a spy novel. The dark interior also reminds me of a couple hidden wine bars I've been to before, but this cocktail lounge is so much better. My nephew knows one of the bartenders (Jayme) and she was great - even turned me onto a nice bourbon I hadn't had before. Six of us came here for a nightcap and we really had a great time...even if we only had a couple drinks. Some of the tasty treats we had: Hot Toddy, Whiskey sour, Ava (Town Branch bourbon, fig, Rosemary, orange peel, aromatic and orange bitters), Louise (Deadwood Rye, Copper & King's Firewall apple brandy, Benedictine, Quintinye sweet vermouth, Peychaud's and aromatic bitters), Macallan 12, and Town Branch Bourbon. The drinks are a bit pricey, but the atmosphere and service were great. There's a parking lot adjacent to the place or on-street parking as well.

Crown is awesome to go to by yourself or with friends! I love that there are games we can play while we get drinks. I've gotten to know the staff and they're all super nice and friendly. I also really enjoy that there is indoor and outdoor seating. When the weather is nice, sitting outside on the twinkly-lit porch feels magical. Inside is nice too. I love the colors and mood lighting within.

Always a great time at Crown! The drinks are delicious and rotate seasonally, the bites are great and the staff are the friendliest most professional people around, we love them all! Make sure to look around while in there, the building is old and beautiful.

Super excited to try this new hip millennial bar in uptown... so when my lovely and stylish friend was visiting from San Francisco, I was excited to share some of the new things that have evolved in my neighborhood. The Crown is located in the very happening and historic district of Uptown Kingston. Walking up to the bar shows promise... it is in an old historical stone building that survived fires way back when. A warm glow draws you into the interior which is absolutely delightful. The decor suggests 1920 speak easy. It is tiny, with a bar area and then a little room with tables decked out in faux leopard fur... the place is dripping with elegance and charm. It is a Wednesday night and there are few people in the place, all of whom are gathered in the bar. The waitress acknowledges us and we retreat to the room with the tables. It's quiet in there and we have quite a lot to catch up on, so it feels perfect. We sit with the drink menu which seems charming albeit over priced, but hey... ambience. And then we sit. and we sit. and we sit. Finally the waitress comes through with a menu. We each order a girly fruity cocktail and we tell the waitress that we would like to order food. and we sit. and we sit. and we sit. Finally the drinks come. They are as delicious as the ingredient list had suggested. So we then order the flatbread and the charcuterie. We sip slowly, catch up on our recent years... and we sit and we sit and we sit and we sit... finally the waitress brings the charcuterie plate and tells us that they were out of crackers, or bread or what ever the hell is part of the plate but that they have replaced it with cheese. Okay! Seriously... change the name on the menu... this is NOT charcuterie. This is a plate of cold cuts! Sliced pepperoni from Aldi might describe it best. And the replacement cheese??? Um... 2 tiny slivers of cheese. We were literally having giggle fits as we discussed the nature of this plate. Well... hopefully the flatbread would be better. So... we sat and we sat and we sat... the flatbread wasn't coming... and neither was the waitress! Finally she poked her head in to come get the plates and we asked her about the flat bread. Her deer in headlights response suggested that she had forgotten to order it. and we sit. At this point our glasses are empty, but the waitress has zipped off to order our flatbread... and we sit. Finally she buzzes into the lounge drops the flatbread on the table... ignores our empty glasses and takes off. We eat the flatbread... it's glorified pizza really... but delicious none the less... we gobble it down and wait for the waitress, thirsty for another drink... we sit and we sit and we sit... Darn it I say, and reach into my shopping bag... pull out the sealed bottle of mezcal in my bag that I'd purchased for later and pour us a hefty helping of the cactus juice because I'll be damned if it looks like we can get served another drink here. Good thing I did... because we were left alone in that room for a good long time. We now want our check, I can't stay here and continue to drink my own mezcal as I have to responsibly drive... but we wait for the waitress (does she think she is called a "wait"ress because that is what she makes you do??) Anyway... the check does not come... neither does the "wait"ress. So we get up... walk to the bar... our pretty waitress and the pretty bartender are doing pretty waitress bartendery chitchat with the local older men in suits with tabs behind the bar... cha-ching! We wait a good 5 minutes really before the bartender or the wait-ress acknowledge us... (keep in mind... it is a small handful of men at the bar) we ask the bartender for the check... she passes it to us we hand her our cards and split the bill... we hand it back to her... and after she has rung it up asks her patron at the bar to then hand our cards back to us... this is just all wrong. The bill for 2 drinks, cold cuts flopped on a plate and glorified pizza is almo

A great treat-ya-self establishment in a colonial-era building turned bar. Very friendly and fun staff.

Cool spot to grab a drink, I only got a beer there, but the cocktails looked pretty good. Could expand the beer list a bit.

This Is a nice cocktail lounge with outdoor and/or patio seating. Drinks are unique and strong! Bartenders are nice and pleasant. Drinks are a little pricey though.

One word. Phenomenal. Ok that's all. Go there. Order cocktail. Enjoy the company you bring or the company that's already there. Win.

Would like to start out by saying that we've had a great experience on our first visit. The manager or the owner (not quite sure) was super friendly and accommodating and the waitress was very pleasant and nice. We were visiting from New York City and decided to bring our parents who joined us there for a drink yesterday night on 7.31.19. We loved the ambiance and the aesthetic of the place and came back to enjoy the atmosphere late night evening. We decided to sit inside at the bar as it was rather dark to sit outside. There were few people there as well but the four of us were the only people at the bar. The bartender woman, don't know her name, greeted us with sour smile and made our drink within one minute. We appreciate the fast service but afterwards, we were not once asked if we needed anything else or checked in whether everything was good, even once. The bartender (wish I knew her name but sure can find that out if needed) was completely neglectful and annoyed, disappeared the moment we got the drinks, and reappeared after a long while facing us with her back and excuse me, her butt, the whole remainder of our stay sipping the drink. While clicking on her phone excessively and sighing heavily. Now, being New Yorkers we're all about great ambiance and had a fair share of different experiences from Manhattan to Brooklyn. But wouldn't be exaggerating to say that never have we had such attitude or lack of attention from a bartender or a server. Not to say that we need constant attention, not at all. But to be asked if we'd like another drink at least, would be nice. Unfortunately, our second visit (our last night in Kingston) left us with very mixed and unpleasant feelings. We paid our tab and left a tip (though not deserved) as we respect the business. We never normally write reviews especially not positive ones, but thought it's important to share this so that it doesn't happen again.

I'm not generally a fan of bars, but Crown is my new favorite hang. The bartenders are awesome, the atmosphere is cozy, and I love the games!
