Truly a perfect location, friendly staff, nice rooms, unique proposition where the hotel has multiple locations/buildings throughout town. The hotel bar had some really unique and fun cocktails, including a fun sidecar-esque martini and a tequila based creamy coffee cocktail. The continental breakfast is great, easy but good quality, with attentive staff.Rooms are nice and uniquely appointed, and clean!Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Kingston. We brought a dog and it was pooch-approved also!Walkability: Definitely hugely walkable to get around town, and even can walk to a small strip mall that’s a quarter mile awayFood & drinks: Continental breakfast in the morning. The hotel’s restaurant is great, and contends with any top option in the area.Bar is small but lovely with unique cocktails.

Had an amazing stay at the John St. location this weekend. The front desk was very helpful in booking massages at the spa and answering any of our questions that came up. We had a beautiful stay and loved the fireplace and soaking tub in the deluxe queen room. Highly recommend if you’re planning a trip to Kingston.

I loved my stay at this boutique hotel! It was so clean and overall beautiful only con would be the parking lot being a few blocks away but it wasn’t really far it was just a very cold day. Other than that beautiful and loved this hotel!

I am giving the rooms and service five stars because they were just fine for our needs (clean, spacious, simply but nicely appointed). This is not a luxury destination.I believe the hotel comprises 4 buildings. Our building sat atop the Kinsley Restaurant, situated at a relatively "busier" intersection. So, a couple times over the course of three days, we heard a loud passerby. Not a big deal as it takes them a couple seconds to pass.

Fantastic hotel. We had a king bed room in the Fair Street building. About a 4-5 minute walk to the main building for check in and out, breakfast, and dinner. We had a very spacious suite (201) on the second floor with a living room with two comfortable arm chairs and a small sofa (big enough for a nap). The bedroom had two side tables, reading lamps, a desk and chair, refrigerator, tv, and luggage rack. A very spacious marble floored and walled bathroom with large shower and double sinks. The living room and bedroom each had two windows facing west. Great afternoon sun. The bedroom also had a south facing window. The bath had a south facing window looking out at the roof of the adjacent building (very private). We had two mini split units with controls for HVAC. The entire building was in terrific shape. It must have just been renovated. Very attractive decor throughout. Everything was clean, modern, and worked. Even though we looked out at the street, our room was very quiet throughout our four night stay, with the exception of about 10 pm to 1 am Friday night when our upstairs neighbors came home and pounded around with heavy feet. Otherwise we never heard a soul. The continental breakfasts were very nice. Choice of croissants, several varieties of pastries, breads, and bagels, hard boiled eggs, excellent coffee, tea, a nice variety of fresh fruit, oj, and gourmet yoghurts. We had dinner twice at the restaurant. Very delicious, great service, attractive space, etc. There are many very nice restaurants within walking distance that will suit all budgets. Free parking in hotel owned lots right behind and across the street from the building. We'll be back!

I booked directly with Hotel Kinsley instead of thru a third party that I normally use. I wanted a specific room. Building was quiet and close to main establishment and restaurant. Common areas were actually nicer than room itself. Beautiful carpet and artwork in hallway was not same in room. Room was decorated with just okay furniture and bedding showed signs of use. Heated floor in bathroom was nice, shower door leaked and handle and seal were broken on shower door. No where to really hang up towels inside bathroom. Mirror was on opposite wall of sink and lighting was actually awful. Doesn’t work well with contacts and cosmetics. No usb to charge. WiFi neverWorked for either of us. I guess I would say I wouldn’t return here to stay. I would however return to dine. We enjoyed everything about the restaurant. Decor menu and service and food were spot on. Breakfast idea here is also perfect. Not too much but just right. If Hotel Kinsley put as much effort to rooms as they do common areas this would work. Travel & Leisure recommended but thin walls and some improvements still needed.Lola pizza nearby is a great other option for dinner and Hotel Kinsley gives this suggestion at check in.Walkability: You can go anywhere here. Easy 2Min walk to hotel lobby and restaurant. Steps difficult if you have heavy luggage. Many older travelers were struggling without getting any help because there was none.Food & drinks: Bar and drinks top notch. Menu and food and service very goodNoteworthy details: Carpet in common area stunning. Artwork really good. Exterior freshly painted and clean.

as hotel as it amenities are sparse. We stayed 10/11-13.When we checked and learned elevator was out of order we asked to change our room from 3rd to 2nd floor. Sorry no 2nd floor rooms available. So we muled our luggage to 3rd floor- no offer from reception to asist. Our room was nice but bath sink spout was very loose and stopper broken.Maintenance was gone for day -at 4pmAnd we were offered another room same floor which was very nice.Went to bar and had couple drinks.Next day went to sample continental breakfast- very limited. No decaf, no cappuccino although machine is there -No bananas. The property is in excellent location. We went out for day advising front deskTo just give us fresh towels-no need to clean.Upon returning at 4 we found same towels.Called front desk no answer. Went down to advise and there was line of 6 people.Theres only one position there.Stopped at bar again and was handed happy hour menu.I told bartender-different from previous day-that i was there ssme time day before and no mention of happy hour menu.Bartender said it was experimental and could not get adjustment from full price day before. Nice.Asked for change to feed meter out front- parking lot is 4 blocks away - and was told they don’t make change there. In summary, the rooms are very nice, location great but the level of service is amateurish. Especially given the rate.It needs professional management.

This is a review of the Hotel Kinsley restaurant's TWO TERRIBLY RUDE WORKERS WHO SET UP THE CHALKBOARDS THIS AFTERNOONMy wife's work is less than a block away and today we decided to take a lunch at the oh-so-attractive looking restaurant of in the lobby of this hotel-until rude workers (Hey management-the team you had working on 9/28/23 @12:15 pm.) were unable to return a happy greeting to prospective diners. "Good Afternoon" was met with a stony silence. I speak clearly and I was heard...was it because I'm Black? Maybe because I'm short? Whatever, here's your review-we'll make sure her co-workers get this info! We will also sing the praises of where we DID lunch-the wonderful and welcoming STELLA'S at 44 North Front Street where a fabulous lunch was had.

I was riding my bike across New York State when a cold rain storm hit and I couldn’t make it to Kingston for my reservation. I understand their “policy” but under the circumstances a little thoughtful would have gone a long way. It was a Monday night and I doubt they missed out selling the room to someone else. Yes, they gave me a future credit but it’s unlikely that I will ever return to Kingston.

This review is for Pearl St location on the first floor. Room consistently smells nice when you walk in. Cute and nicely decorated. Bathroom was chic and bath products smelled great. Front desk was very nice. Our wifi didn't work so they gave us another portal. However, the walls are thin so you can hear everyone else walking in and out, slamming doors and footsteps in room above. You can also hear all cars driving by and people talking out on the streets at night. Fireplace and TV were both not working. Room was kinda dark and could use another light source. Bed was uncomfortable, you could feel the kinks as you slumped in. Would consider other options if we're in town again but other than noise and certain things not working, this wasn't a terrible option.

We’ve dined at HK resto 4 or 5 times. The vibe is always on point, whether they’re packed or a bit more quiet. I’d call this cuisine creatively comfortable - and definitely delicious. Don’t sleep on the burger : it’s super solid!

Breakfast this morning with burnt pancakes, cold coffee and DJ blasting to test music. Overall horrible experience. Won’t see me again.

This review is for the restaurant. We sat for lunch over the long weekend. The wine was excellent and the server gave us somewonderful recommendations. We tried the lobster roll, tuna tacos and the burger. My friend had the burrata. They were all great but the best was the burger by far. This place gets busy especially for their outdoor seating so make a reservation or plan ahead. Bring your pups too. They take good care of them when you sit outside.
