Was visit Kingston and Google’s donuts. Found the Anchor and thought we would give it a try. Donuts were amazing. Gentleman at the counter was super friendly. It’s a hole is the wall with the best donuts. Give it a try.

I toured the country with a band for two years. The Anchor not only had some of the best food I've found in the country, but also some of the nicest staff ever. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Was going to have lunch here, but just got some donuts for appetizer We ordered 3 donuts. Their dough is like cake texture. Pretty good.

Surprised this place is still open... They clearly can not make up their mind on what sort of business they are going to run. Once a music venue/bar turned burger spot, turned donuts, bagels, and fried chicken? Make up your mind people! The bagels are nothing to write home about and are not actually made in house (what is the point?). I've gone in there a few times in recent years expecting renovations they claimed to make, only to find the same decor with some tables moved around slightly (something that takes 20 minutes and costs $0). None of the current employees act proud or happy to be there. Seems like the owner took her PPP loans and went on several vacations. Good luck in whatever your 'next big move' is, but my hopes are low at best.PS you can still get beer on tap, but everything is flat as hell since most people don't want a beer with their bagel.

Oh em geeeeeee!!! GO!! Now!!Don't be fooled there is no bar!! Lol However... the people are extremely nice and accommodating!!! They even free donuts to try!!Discounts on day old donuts!!! I mean come on!! Most places would have sold you the old donuts at full price!!!!!!How would you even know???!!The donuts are so live for!!!It's worth a second trip!!Just know it's a donut shop not a dive bar!!

The donuts and sandwiches are fantastic, and the owner is such a sweet person. I haven’t been to any place nearly as cozy in the area. Highly recommended!

I used to like the Anchor pre-pandemic. During the pandemic, I ordered food from them for take out - their food does not travel well and everything would get cold and rubbery - but I wanted to show my support. Then when they reopened the patio I took two friends and we ate outside - we were bombarded by wasps. We complained, but the wait staff gave us some idiotic reason why they couldn't deploy wasp traps. They got downright nasty! I'm not sure which was worse, the staff or the wasps. The Anchor used to be a good place but their quality and service have gone WAY south. No thanks.

Just like they're donuts, heard good things... McDonald's makes better food. I don't know if they pick and choose who they like or don't, but never again here either

The food was delicious, beer selection was very good. Then when the bill came, I noticed the beers we had ordered, which were listed as $8 for an 8 oz glass, were charged as $11 each on the bill. I brought it up to the server, who seemed a bit more defensive than apologetic about what I had thought was an honest mistake on their end. She said something like “well I don’t have anything to do with pricing,” reprinted the ticket with the adjusted amount but didn’t apologize or anything. Not a huge deal, hence why I’m not lambasting the business, but just beware of marked up drinks and double check your bill!

The staff is amazing. Great pub food, I've tried a variety of dishes and they're all very good. They also have extremely fast and delicious delivery.

this was one of my favorite spots to eat. within last few months the quality of food they are sending out has gone down tremendously. burnt dry chicken, greasy mac and cheese, cold fries…the quality is not worth the price. it seems like they are resting on the brand that was built before the owner stated she was selling. the food tastes like they gave up.

The good:We ordered takeout over the phone and the food was ready promptly. I thoroughly enjoyed the Cheezey Breezey (pictured) and the sweet potato fries!!The meh:We also ordered the chicken and waffles - which is never really as good when the fried chicken is chicken tenders instead of thighs/drumsticks. We also attempted to order online and it was almost exclusively the donuts and not their actual menu.Overall; I’d give it a 4.7!

i hate to say in the past month or so the quality of the food has gone down. i used to LOVE their sandwiches and fries. the past three orders my chicken/burger was burnt and my fries were soaked in grease AND soft. I am so sad that I may have to find another regular spot to order burgers

We ordered takeout and greatly enjoyed that they had a pickup window and a no mask, no service sign at the window. This made our pickup feel nice and safe despite COVID. The restaurant itself is located right off of a traffic circle, so finding and getting to parking for pickup is a bit tricky; you definitely need to watch your turns carefully here. We ordered butternut squash bisque, a Cobb salad, and garlic truffle pierogies. The bisque was warm and hearty, with awesome flavor. The salad was fresh and tasty with good fresh lettuce. Pierogies were well-seasoned and heaped with bacon, rich and delicious; at $3+ each, they were definitely pricey, but the taste eased the pain to the wallet. We also got donuts since they still had some left for the day and they saved us a trip elsewhere for dessert. We got a cider glazed, caramel delight, chocolate glazed, and strawberry glazed. The cider glazed donut had a great depth of flavor. It had a cider glaze layered with cinnamony streusel and is probably one of the best cider donuts we've found anywhere. The caramel delight had an overwhelming flavor of chocolate but was otherwise good. The coconut provides a good texture and they gooey caramel is delicious as expected. The double chocolate cake was a cake donut with a smooth super-chocolate flavor. It was a good consistency and it had fun ghost sprinkles. The strawberry glazed was a cake donut with nice lemon cookie crumbles (although it could use more), but the glaze is probably the richest strawberry glaze encountered anywhere. It was full of flavor and was definitely a winner. Overall, things were a little pricey, but high quality and very tasty. We would have liked to have tried their touted burgers and a few other menu items, so we’ll just have to go back for another visit.

Don't judge a book by its cover! This place appeared a little divey on the outside and more of a local bar/restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu, attentive staff, quick service and quality food. They specialize in burgers and there's a wide variety you have probably never heard of. Local grass fed beef, fun cocktails and locally made desserts to choose from. Impressive beer menu. If you're looking for a beer and a burger in Kingston, this is the place to go.
