I love the food. Thank you chef'
Worst fish fry on the planet!!!Nachos were a health code violation!!!Fish fry was frozen, pre-breaded & burnt.Nachos were disgusting. Sour cream was curdled due to being under the melted blanket of over cooked cheese.I feel bad that "Top of the Park" has to share a door with this awful place.Line cook came upstairs and was wearing swim sandals and a bad attitude. Like he wanted to fight the sent back food.
Sonny and his team have always been wonderful-the food is great, the view of Mirror Lake is unbeatable and the atmosphere is unmatched. We love this place and have been going for years.Parking: It’s Lake Placid so parking is always a challenge, but if you don’t mind a short walk,it’s no prob.

I've waited a while to write this just to see if my impressions were transitory. They aren't. For starters, our bar server who erroneously claimed she was the owner [she was not] gave us a thimble of a 10$ house wine. This was followed by my mug of beer which was more head than beer. I complained. Was ignored and the second one was as poor as the first. I noticed that employees coming behind the bar left with nicely poured glasses of beer and wine. Lunch was simple enough and came in under 3 minutes. Cold paninis and cold fries for me. My companion's lunch was so unremarkable I can't even remember what it was. Adding insult to injury when I used a debit card to avoid the 3% fees added to credit cards I was told after the card was returned with the fee imposed that's how they do it. No apology for not being clear from the surly "owner" 93$ later we left with a miserable experience that tarnished our Lake Placid visit. I'm telling all my friends to steer clear of this place. It is a black eye for the community.
We sat on the lower deck. My salad was delicious!

Food was really good but the service is really
Do not let the name of this special place fool you. It is not really a sports bar as much as it is casual fine dining in a relaxed setting. BUT THE FOOD IS THE BEST!!! We had the duck, lobster ravioli and large salmon salad. INCREDIBLE QUALITY AND PORTIONS for the price. Maybe the best duck we have ever had in the states or Canada. Serena is one of the nicest and best servers you will ever meet. We loved this place. Ate here two nights in a row. Not loud at all. Outside seating near the lake is nice.

Had a really great dinner here tonight. Most places were closing around 8 but we were just going out. Got a table here overlooking the lake right away. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. We had the beef empanadas which were tasty, super crispy on the outside, nice flavorful beef filling, for a starter. I had the NY strip steak which was huge! And cooker perfectly. My husband had a burger which he described as perfect, and it had a nice meaty bite. He also loved their fries which were very well made. Everything was really well seasoned and the prices for the portions were fantastic! Highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back again on out next trip to Lake Placid.

Excellent food with a wide variety of adult beverages. The Mediterranean wrap and the Philly cheese steak were delicious. Arrive hungry, large portions and very friendly servers. Our order arrive quickly We ate outdoors on the balcony, very nice view of Mirror lake and the fall foliage on surrounding hills.
Food was very good. Service and staff not the best. Not very friendly, felt like we were a burden just being there.
Burger and fries were really good! So was the Caesar side salad which was big for being a side salad. Onion rings were bland, not much flavor in the batter. Overall good place, good experience. Was sat outside so we had a lake view. Will be back.

We stopped in because the menu looked good and we were hoping to get a seat with a view. We asked and said we were happy to wait however long. They thought about 20 minutes so we went to the bar. Had the yummy cucumber refresher while chatting with the bartender who had grown up in the area…she gave us insight into Lake Placid since it was our first time there. We got a great table on the balcony overlooking the lake. We split onion rings and the blackened salmon sandwich…both were excellent. We also chatted with some more locals sitting near us…everyone was so friendly. As we left we chatted with the manager who I could tell really wanted all his guests to have a great experience at his restaurant. The next night we really wanted to have dinner with a view again and none of the other restaurants was of interest to us so we decided to go back. We did the same thing again but different drinks, food and people to chat with…again a great experience. The manager chatted again with us…so nice. We had to tell him we wouldn’t be back only because we had a dinner with a friend at Saranac Lake the next night and then we would be heading south but I could so see us returning. The name of the restaurant has sports bar in it but it really felt more like a laid back upscale restaurant…not at all like a sports bar.
Highly recommend Players Sports Bar. We visited 2 times on our vacation. Food was great; came fast, cooked perfect and Service was best we have seen on the lake. We will be back!
