Rack of Lamb was tasty, tender and nice presentation . Always a great dish on the regular menu. The Halibut special (almond crusted) was to die for. Shared a delicious coconut and pecan cake with cappuccino and an espresso for dessert. Can't resist the dessert cart.

Amazing

The onion soup was disappointing. The foie gras was plated on cut vegetables a very strange combination. The octopus salad wasn't what the pictures on the internet had shown. We were underwhelmed and disappointed.

The food is consistently excellent. We have been dining here for over 25 years and it never fails to deliver, delicious dishes from salads through desserts along with impeccable, professional service. La Coquille is our favorite local restaurant.

Went last weekend for my wifes Birthday. Duck was delicious, but it ends there. Salt is an obvious favorite of the Chef. Onion soup bland and watery, Its a FRENCH onion soup. Come on. Prices fair, but food not worth it. Very small place also.

First time in a long time that I thoroughly enjoyed a meal out! Hats off to the chef, everything we ate was top notch, from appetizer to dessert. The staff gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and provided excellent service. The atmosphere felt clean and modern, yet warm and cozy. My new favorite restaurant!

Food was lackluster. The atmosphere of the place is comically not French. It’s French food, sure, but the waitstaff and manager do not run the place like any true French restaurant you’d find outside of Long Island. Go to manhattan for a better, authentic experience.

Chef's special Halibut was scrumptious. Half bottle of wine just right for one or when your taste in wines is different from your dinner partner. Finished with a chocolate and banana ganache pie, wha-la! Excellent staff and chef make dining a pleasure.

First time here taking a friend out for a special birthday...and it was special indeed. The food was fabulous (French onion soup, shrimp with fettuccine, sole en croute and a napoleon for dessert). Service was top notch and our servers were all warm and gracious. First time there but we cannot wait to go back and sample more from the lovely menu. You made my friend's birthday very special!

My third time back to La COQUILLE and each time a delight. The staff is warm and friendly and the food is exceptional. We were a party of six each having different appetizers ( French Onion soup, escargot, octopus, and artichokes) and entrées from (classic duck, Rack of lamb, Bronzino, halibut, and Short rib) were all spot on good. Not one complaint from this finicky bunch of diners.

We love this place. We have been several times and keep coming back. Last night hit perfectly. We had onion soup to start, duck l'orange and a citrus swordfish. Key lime pie to finish, but several of the desserts sounded appealing this time - (homemade pistachio ice cream, lemon red velvet cake!). Everything was even better than usual. Service is always good, I just expect it from them now. We will be back again in a few weeks.

The service was very nice. Lovely. The restaurant is both cozy and has a modern finish, a wonderful balance. The food was a mixed bag, which I will explain in detail. The cuisine is primarily French in style so I will compare to similar restaurants nearby, of which there are few, LPF in port Washington and JJ in the city. This place is more modern than LPF, and has better service and more similar to JJ in feel. In LN, la baraka but that's a completely different feel. To begin with the good, the ingredients are top notch. Seafood is fresh and firm, meats were excellent, not too lean and not too fatty. Whoever was manning the grill, 5/5 in both the duck and the lamb! Escargots also excellent, the execution sans puff pastry topping but you don't miss it. And the more disappointing...the tuna tartare lacking in pre marinade, so it was fresh but flavorless, paired with two chips and a strange choice of a roasted red pepper sauce on the side which did nothing to enhance. The side of green beans and carrots with the duck were underdone, the carrots almost raw and quite hard in the centers. Lacking in any seasoning as well. The duck itself wonderfully prepared and perfectly crisped, but only a scant tablespoon or so of sauce to go with the generous portion of meat and most of the sauce had run under the wild rice on the same plate. And the greatest disappointment was the veal with lemon cream sauce. The veal was tough, rubbery, and chewy. The sauce itself was cream and lemon, but lacked silky finesse. Spinach and mashed potatoes sides were unremarkable and plain, one might say, bland. Finally, the desserts. Wow! A very nice selection exceeding all the high end steakhouses within a 5 mile radius. The coffee was meh, diner quality. If you want to order the chocolate soufflé, keep in mind that it comes for 2 and needs a 30 minute pre-order, but this is the ONLY restaurant that makes it in this area and whoever is in charge of desserts, bravo! Hats off to you.

It was our 5th time there, and always perfection. One of the best scuffle around.Went on a Sunday afternoon so it was quiet and perfect(no shouting over people)The big thing about it is in these abysmal times Thanks to someone old and decrepit prices are through the roof but this is worth the extra cost, whereas some places your paying double the price for the same food.Great all around
