it’s important to remember that not everyone is an influencer or just passing through Montauk for the weekend. Many customers, including myself, spend our hard-earned money there because we appreciate what they offer. When someone raises concerns about pricing, it doesn’t mean they’re disrespecting the hard work behind the business; it’s simply a reflection of their experience. Suggesting that people are “following the sheep” for social media validation overlooks the reality that customers have different perspectives and budgets. We all want to support local businesses, but it’s okay to express our thoughts on prices.
In response to the Kaitlyn and Caitlin, if you felt embarassed in being approached by an employee defending her workplace and the people she works for, as this is their livelihood that you are using for instant validation on your own socials, maybe put yourself in their shoes in understanding the amount of time and energy and the many hard working people it takes to execute a production as successful as theirs reflected in their pricing.
Not one person is sitting back and collecting a huge paycheck. There is a team of individuals behind every business out here. The family behind Roundswamp and everyone on their team are some of the kindest and caring people I know. They have created a place that feeds community. A community that you take for granted when you show up for the occasional weekend visit or summer stay.
As far as their prices, if you don’t agree with them or find them high then don’t shop.
Nothing is forcing you to spend your money there if you feel the pricing is too much, except the need for you to follow the rest of the sheep in posting about it on social media in hopes you yourself will feel validated by likes and follows.
Following up the newest review to Kaitlyn Coffin. As someone that has worked in the hospitality industry for years and overheard the whole situation, to be fair- the “tall curly haired woman” was to say the least, NOT in the wrong…… This guest that left the unfortunate review, was clearly filming content for her tiktok (which I have seen) and took something and completely blew it out of proportion. The employee was just doing her job on educating this client on the Round Swamps product history while she was mocking and filming the food. Also - please remember people are trying to do the best that they can especially in a work field that has major eyes on it. I appreciate all the hard working employees that Montauk has to offer especially during the summer season with visiting guests.
I visited Round Swamp Farm Market today and had a very uncomfortable experience. One of the employees—a tall young woman with brown curly hair—yelled at me and lectured me in front of other people after I simply said a price out loud to my friend who asked how much the gazpacho was. She accused me of “mocking the prices” and said, “Can I just say something?” before continuing to lecture me in a way that was completely unnecessary and embarrassing. We were planning to spend money on lunch there, but ultimately decided to leave because of how uncomfortable and unwelcome we felt. Disappointing experience at a place we were genuinely excited to support.
I love the place. I tried the curry chicken salad last weekend. Now my mouth waters when I think about it.
I come out to Montauk every year and always come here -albeit overpriced- at least 2x each trip. As much as I’ve cringed when hearing my grand total for a couple of lunches and some snacks, I’d keep coming back because their quality has always been great… up until this trip. The selection isn’t as great and not well stocked. At first I thought it was because they were just picked over. Now I’m starting to think items aren’t moving as fast. My first purchases were some muffins (usually sooo good) and some dips. The dips were great but the muffins tasted like they were made a couple days ago. I usually buy them for the following morning and they still always tasted fresh. This time it wasn’t even worth eating… hard as a rock. I chalked that up to a fluke incident and went back today. I purchased a salad that also tastes like it’s been sitting for days. The kale was limp (kale usually takes a while to succumb to texture change). If you’re going to overcharge with a $28 small salad, I’d expect it to be made same day. Not sure it’s worth the sticker shock anymore.
Prepared food is great but my blueberries had mold
wonderful
Really fresh produce and yummy home baked cookies. The cheeses are also really unique and they have specialty items you won’t find anywhere else.
Food is slightly above average but man the prices make it so not worth it

Can't be beat for quality and taste. The baked goods are amazing - every muffin flavor is bursting with fruit and the perfect muffin consistency (to me). The prepared foods (esp. corn salad and korean beef) are top notch. This place is not inexpensive, but after spending money on food in Montauk for years, I can say it's worth it. Not necessarily the place for a family of 5 to get a meal, but the price is worth the savoring for discerning adults :)
5 stars for the chicken fingers
