Very expensive for very mediocre Viet food

The waiting system is a complete mess! We tried to join waitlist three times, but it somehow did not register. We registered at staff tablet. We arrived 7p.m The staff said it would be one 1-hour wait, so we stayed. After waiting the full hour, they told us it would be another hour—even though the place wasn’t busy and there was no crowd outside. On top of that, we never got a text notification on that night!
I entered Friday at 12pm and the place was already packed and very hectic. Even though they just opened, everyone working there from waiters to kitchen staff already looked like they are so done and ready to go home. I sat at the bar and was assaulted by the heat and smoke from the active grill. The open kitchen did not look sanitary and the 129 points of violation shown on abceats confirmed that. I saw the chef making banh xeo wiping the pans with a dirty yellow rag in between each banh xeo, never washing the pan or rag. The person who took my order never put my drink order in and I waited so long for my food. I would not recommend. They are clearly overwhelmed and don't know how to meet the demand.
Extremely authentic Vietnamese food, amazing chefs and employees.
Just came back from spending a month in HCMC, this was better than some of the Vietnamese restaurants there!

Great introduction to Vietnamese dishes across multiple regions of Vietnam not commonly found elsewhere (bánh cuốn, bún riêu, or xôi). Overall tasty & well-executed, but less than excellent versions of these dishes. Come ~ half an hour early to make the first seating.

HOT TAKE: this food might be more Taiwanese than all of the Taiwanese food in New York ?!
Didn’t do much digging into what kind of Vietnamese food this was before we walked in but it feels northern - much milder, sultrier, and nuanced, almost like if you mashed Taiwanese food and Vietnamese food together, but still distinctly Vietnamese.
It is VERY good, hitting the spot as much as proper homely soulful cuisine and meal do. The staff was as sweet as they could be, given it’s usual 2+ hour line daily, and very attentive. We were greeted by almost all FOH staff as we walked out, which you can hardly say is true for most any other establishment in New York, even the unbusy ones.
The deconstructed walls with partially stripped brick and wabisabi lamps reminded of home (Taiwan), added to the sweeter braised portion of the menu, if we squint hard enough, it’s as if we were in a cute cafe in Taiwan, but this is equally as Vietnamese as it gets.
Would absolutely come back and try the rest.

I think the food was mid! I dont understand the hype! Not worth my 2hr wait
food: the food was pretty solid. i got the pork chop & spring roll combo noodles and it was good. had to ask for more fish sauce. the pate chaud was good. i also had a sip of the vietnamese iced coffee and that was yummy. overall i would come back, but it's a bit pricey and waitlist is looong
service: waiter forgot one of our orders.
atmosphere: super loud and noisy. it's also a very tight dining area so it's not that comfortable.

The dishes we ordered were amazing. Bun cha Ha Noi, xoi thit kho and Cha Ca La vong. The meats of bun cha were tender and juicy and came out hot fresh off the grill. We sat at the kitchen counter so we saw how they handled the foods and you can tell the chefs cooked with care and heart. The meats were grilled by the order so its fresh. The long wait time is partially because of this since sometimes it takes a while for the foods to come out. And thats a good trade off. I would always rather way a bit longer for fresh foods than pre-grilled meats. Give it a try! Not all the dishes are equally amazing but the ones we ordered were pretty on point. For a brief moment, the foods transported us to back home in Vietnam. Service was also good and tentative, our water glasses were always filled.

The food is excellent. Yummy Vietnamese dishes, very tasty. Attentive and friendly staff. The only reason this review is not 5 stars is because of loud and unnecessary club music blasting loudly in the restaurant. Please turn it off, for the love of cod. It’s ruining the whole experience.

Really taste like my type of familiar flavors because i'm from fuzhou and the bun rieu was amazing. Light umami shrimp with tomato and crab meatballs bring it all together and the noodle they chose was perfection.
Banh cuon hanoi was yummy we chose that over wrapping our own, banh xeo was just a tad bit overwhelming and oily but i love the shrimps and pork belly inside of it. Ice coffee was $4 and sweet we werejappy to see good prices for these menu items except the fried rolls we didnt order. Everyone was very friendly and efficient and chatted to us like family.
I enjoyed my meal here. Had a craving for Vietnamese food and this kind of cuisine is usually a miss in NYC, so I didn't expect much. However, after being very disappointed by a popular Vietnamese restaurant in the LES, this was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the phở, chả giò, bánh cuốn, and cơm tấm. Good flavors, but not mind blowing. Would recommend if you're craving Vietnamese food!
Since they just opened, I did have to wait quite a bit before being seated as a heads up.

REALLY delicious food for a really great price. The dumplings are rice paper wrappers, so delicious, and the BBQ pork in the salad is genuinely some of the best I’ve had. SUCH a good casual lunch/dinner spot with great take out too!
