Reviews for Cloister Cafe

The place is quite spacious, and is big-group friendly. However, the hookah and drinks were a bit lack luster. The hookah tasted very soapy- but that could just be the flavor we chose. We ordered a small carafe of sangria, and it all the glasses had fruits in it and we were given the white wine separately (which in my head defeats the purpose of a sangria?). The wine felt very flavorless as well. They did give us all a free shot which was super yummy but that was about it. full review

Cloister Cafe has been around for years and yet it’s a hidden gem of lower east side. It’s so rare to find nice hookah joints in manhattan that have decently priced hookah, huge space, nice cocktails and food options and this place ticks all the boxes. For any New York trivia buffs, this cafe is themed and designed around the Cloisters Museum and gardens in Bronx, hence the greenery and expansive courtyard!

Very beautiful spot to lounge with friends. This place was recommended to me by a friend as a good after dinner spot to hang out. Hookah prices are reasonable and beers and seltzer's are pretty cheap. I can't speak to the food but if you're looking for a chill place to go out this is the spot!
