Reviews for DaDong

Food is above my expectations because we read a lot of negative reviews before going. For the food alone with that price, I will give 3.5 -4 stars. However, the service is not professional at all for a high end restaurant. We got charged for a salad that they were sold out. Also, they charge a cake for $5 per person. We only have 3 people, so $15 for the cake fee, but I wonder if it's a group of 10 people to celebrate a birthday, will they charge $50 for cutting the cake?

I came here for their 8-10 pm weekday happy hour and it was a good time! The lychee martini was perfect (not the best I've ever had - but I enjoyed it for being smooth and not overly sweet). I loved the dollar oysters and steamed veggie buns - literally perfect happy hour food! Enjoyed the bar-side ribs. Overall a great night and worth noting that the happy hour is a late one. My only pet peeve is that there was only 1 drink on happy hour - wish they had more drink full review

I had read the reviews, but I went anyway and had a great time.  The food was excellent, but very expensive.  We went for Restaurant Week, which kept the costs down (a bit) and ordered the signature duck, which was slightly discounted, in addition to the regular Restaurant Week menu. The duck was extremely crispy, carved tableside  and was excellent. The other dishes were also very well done.
